Hi everyone,

I’m currently based in North London (N15) and really keen on starting my journey in airsoft by doing things the right way.

I have my heart set on a Umarex Glock 17 Gen 4 (VFC). I’ve done a lot of research on this platform and am keen to own one, so I’m currently on the path to
obtaining my UKARA. I decided to visit the Alpha Guns London (AGL) sites in Camden and Aldgate to get a feel for the gear and talk to staff. It’s been great seeing
all the equipment they have, and while I’m waiting for a restock of the Umarex G17s, they advised me to focus on getting my hours in at a UKARA-approved skirmish site.

So I originally planned to do the 3 games at Bunker 51 in Charlton but I heard it has permanently closed. Now, Mayhem in Abridge is currently my most viable option for UKARA. But the travel time is significant for me as I do not have a car. If anyone in the North London area knows of any other UKARA-registered sites closer to N15, or has any tips, I’d love to connect with others who enjoy playing at Aldgate AGL site or maybe play at Mayhem. Whether you’re an experienced player or someone also working toward your UKARA, it would be great to share experiences or even coordinate some upcoming game days.

Welcome, you've clearly been doing your research for a while, which is great, means we don't have to spoonfeed you lol.
London is a funny spot for airsoft, massive obviously, but at the same time not a lot of playing options, in the main part due to mental rents & rates, & a complete lack of suitable site locations due to comprehensive development everywhere.
So travelling further afield is your best option, but getting there is an issue.
Don't know your age, your welcome to share that if you wish, but there are some sites that allow options such as overnight camping, or some people have been known to hit a travel lodge etc, giving you the option to set out the afternoon before the gameday ?.
Alternatively is there anyone you can rope in, friend or family, & ideally a driver, its surprising how many people don't even know of airsofts existence, but quickly get the bug once they try it.
The reason I mention travelling further afield is that it's all very well to commit to an overpriced tiny cqb site to get your ukara, but in my experience most sites of that ilk rarely give you the satisfaction of a full size well run site with varied terrain & scenarios, & a proper full days (& nights sometimes ?) play, usually for the same price, or even less, of an urban game with a 3 hour window.

Welcome. I don't drive either so I know how restrictive it can be relying on public transport. Be prepared to spend a lot of time travelling and/or walking. Yes taxis are an option but they soon get expensive

Welcome to the forum.

From N15, it may be worth considering RIFT's Blackstone CQB site in Huntingdon as it is quite easy to get to by train from London and it's less than a 10-minute taxi (or a half hour walk) from Huntingdon station to the site.

If you don't have access to a vehicle, getting to Mayhem is going to be extremely awkward. Their website suggests the following:

"We are close to Debden and Theydon Bois stations. Theydon Bois is 20 minutes from Stratford station or 30 minutes from Liverpool Street. ...however Debden station and Chigwell both on the central line have a cab rank which is only a few miles from Mayhem."

If you can get there, talk to other players; there may be someone who lives near you and travels there by car. Alternatively, get on their social media if it is open to external comments and try to find someone who could offer you a lift in return for fuel money.

@Colin Allen is right. Mayhem would be a right ball ache to get to on foot, Google maps says it's 1 hour 10 minutes walk from the site to Theydon Bois station and Debden is even further at 1 hour 30 minutes.
