Newbie Looking for advice - Anyone in Surrey/Southwest London area?

Another question I had for anyone in this thread:
From what I understand there are those who are more into the competitive aspects, and those who are more into the LARPish aspects.

The difference between a hit sending you back to a time-out zone and a hit downing you, "injured" requiring someone to LARP some sort of first aid (if that even happens), does this differ more with venue, or is it more the specific events that groups might put on?

I'm more interested in soft LARP, and the idea of dragging a casualty to safety an having to defend the medic while they "work" sounds like fun, but I'm guessing this isn't standard and would require a group to set it up as a dedicated event?

Unfortunately if you're relying on public transport to get to games you need to get used to spending a lot of time travelling

Sadly I'm used to it, though lessons are more expensive and my apartment doesn't have a parking spot so the train will have to do for now. I've figured out a route to get to Ambush Airsoft in Cobham and have booked my first session this Sunday which I'm looking forward to!

It really depends on the site. Some will have hit players return to a respawn point while others will use medic rules, some will change between the two during the day

I played there a few times a couple of years ago and fortunately it's not far from the station (about 15 minutes walk)

I'm going to be 10mins late unfortunately, do you remember if they're particularly fussy with timings? Not sure if I should get an uber to make it slightly earlier.

I was always late and ended up missing the first game but I was later than that. Personally I wouldn't bother getting an Uber as any journey time saved could easily be lost waiting for it to turn up
