Struggling to adjust to airsoft

I've spent a lot of time looking online for a reputable L85A2 though I haven't found one that comes with the Daniel Defence picatinny handguard as standard. I've seen a few sites list it separate though it's sometimes more expensive than the rifle itself and always out of stock.

The only one that came with the DD rail was Army Armament, but the handguard was incorrect (as in not the correct shape etc). The DD rail appears in occasional small runs however it's mostly been out of production for the past few years and when they do pop up they typically sell for £200 (Fire-support had them at this price)

The G&G L85 series is imo the king nowadays with ICS following behind. Ares looks good but internally has some flaws (Typical ares) and the Army Armament is a budget clone of the G&G which people have said is good as well

I know a lot of (American) guntubers love to bash the L85, but I adore the system both in operation and appearance. I've considered going with a GBB FAL or a KS-1 but they both don't really scratch that itch and don't look as good with the issue kit I run around with. I'd also love an L115 through IMO most polymer-stock bolt-action rifles looks basically the same.
They pop up in the classifieds from time to time, you could always place a wanted add for one.

It's funny watching Americans trash the L85, brings to mind the BlokeOnTheRange video ripping into GarandThumb over it. Dude did not RTFM or ask a single squaddie how to run it.

Me and some other crows watched it one evening at assessment centre and cringed so hard at the AK-style bolt handling. They treat anything non-armalite pattern as some strange foreign contraption. No wonder they hate bullpups haha

From what I've heard it's normal for him to do bugger all research on the guns he shows off before acting like he knows everything. He always did come across as a bit of an arrogant twat to me

Been looking around and both G&G and ICS have mixed reviews. Difficult to find in general and a bit spenny as well. I've read elsewhere that the DD Picatinny handguard makes the battery difficult to house within the gun. All this leads me to think I'm probably better waiting for a good option and going with something else for my first main gun.

Any suggestions for something that is reliable, not too pricey, decent out the box and isn't another boring AR? (asking a lot I know)

Pretty sure mine's a G&G with DD rail, not had any issues with it tbh but it's a heavy beast (like the real thing). It's an A1 tho, my A2 is a WE GBB but never been fielded yet, the A3 is an ares & really don't want to field it... want to keep it pretty. L85A1DD.webp
