For Airsoft eye protection you must have a safety impact rating of EN166B
That covers the impact rating of the lens, and should also cover the frames hold of the lens
(Beware of dodgy sites that will advertise the lens impact and ignore the frame hold)
Buy from a reputable Airsoft retailer and their range will be suitable for Airsoft.
Don’t buy from places with a “BbGunz4less” type of name
Step away from mesh
Lens impact is pretty much the only eye protection standard in Airsoft. I am very biased against this
You can wear glasses style, but must ensure that the whole glasses lens and frame covers every direction (up/down/left/right/angled from behind) and is close up to your face. Accompany that with a strap that will actually hold them in place on your head (and do up the strap)
You don’t want the glasses to protect from the first shot but bounce leaving a gap for the second shot
Even better is a ski goggle style, with a large lens, foam seal around your eyes and good solid strap
Best is a full face goggle / mask.
Paintball goggles are ideal, they are fully rated for lens impact including the frame, foam seal your eye zone and the international standard covers impact against every element of the goggle system
Ideally find an Airsoft or paintball retailer in reasonable travel distance to try some on
