Urban Assault to close - not yet though

Yes as subject and in advert in latest AI mag, Urban Assault at RAF Upwood is set to close this summer sadly 

Not sure why, probably sold for housing...,

Yeah no problem, latest I've heard is summer

next game is 29th April, I'll be there, then every 2 weeks after usually 

ill keep a list of dates in here 

hopefully I'll get a few more in before it finally shuts, most sites for me will be wooded unless someone opens a new urban style!!

Darn. First time this saturday, was hoping to continue going as the only other site Ive been to is MadDog (great site, but naff all cover or real tactics required).

nope, just heard its summer and later....even heard the site demo had been delayed

might be best to call Firesupport, those dates are the latest ive had on email 

but these planning things take time....

Still open, but even if planning isn't given rumours on last visit it may stop anyway at end of year, honestly don't know

Its closing some point 2018 - they have moved the PT76 tanks which is a good combat indicator

Was great fun. 20 of us. Nice close quarters room by room action.  As the light faded it got more tense. Had capture the flag, assassinate vip and finished with zombies which was hilarious. 

Need to get the word out and help grow the numbers.

Just posted this to FB and thought it belonged here too!

Last night I attended the evening game at Urban Assault & Free Fire Zone which was pistol and shotguns only. They last ran this 2 years ago and are aiming to bring it back.

With only 20 players, this being the first event, the games were short and at a frenetic pace involving 2 large buildings on multiple floors. The game types were standard capture the flag, protect the VIP and sweep and clear.

The marshalls did a stellar job, motivating the teams and being in constant watch for how the games were running, following the action closely.

When night fell, the games took on a whole new dimension. Glow sticks gave a dim view of long corridors, and you had to choose when to use a torch and when to use stealth. Black multicam came into its own!

All in all this was a great night of gaming and because of the small teams, we had a great laugh!

The next night game is on 30th May at 6.45pm to 10.00pm - if you want something new, give it a go!
