Hi folks,

I picked this up in a bundle last night

Im pretty confident that it’s a GHK (well the mags are anyway)

Is it a V1 or a V2, any easy way to tell (the bolt does appear smooth not “gritty”

Having never had a GBBR before, and not wanting to ruin it, I intend to gently remove the red two tone that has been done to it

I don’t know if I want to keep it, or sell it to fund an AEG which is more my style

Whats it worth as a package and should I just replace the stock to avoid damaging this one when trying to remove the paint?

cheers

I think you should sell it to me for very good price ?

Can't say i know too much about the GHK M4 but this looks in good condition maybe just replace the the stock and get a new front hand guard.

Lol

it is in lovely condition, I can’t believe the first owner had such a high level of pew two-toned ?

yeah some one with more money than sense.

Honestly i would say beyond the two tone parts. Lube it up, test and then decide if your going to keep or sell. I reckon this would go fairly quickly

Ok,

spent about 90 minutes with my head in a basin of unleaded and managed to get 99% of the red two-tone removed, the fiddly bits will come off with acetone & a cotton bud. It’s going to look almost like new
I have popped about 500 rounds through it and I’m confident it’s a keeper for me at least until the end of summer

Now I feel like the folk who appear on Antiques Roadshow wanting to find out………….  What’s it worth??

Mags alone are worth £200 odd.  Gun is around £550 new, if you can find one in the UK and thats not including any postage or import fees if you can't which would add £150 easy to the price of a new gun.  In short, I would keep it as dependent on how much you paid you are not likely to get full value back.  Plus they are great guns and a barrel of laughs.  GBBR > AEG any day.

Thanks for your input and opinion bud

I love the way it fires, mags are too heavy and too low a capacity for me though ?

But thats part of the appeal.......

I’m sure I will come to terms with it…….

And love the way it feels when firing it, it’s savage compared to my EBB Scar ? I usually Marshall at my site on a sunday and had this out yesterday when walking about during games

The crack it makes really stands out over the electric pewpews the players were using and gets their heads down ?

It’s come up lovely got to be at least 600-700. Well that’s probably what I would pay for it

Wait till you go indoors with it...I remember the first time I took my GHK AKM to Urban Assault, people visibly going 'WTF WAS THAT!!?' when I fired it indoors.  Makes your ears ring after a wee while.

Oh and when setup properly it will outrange any normal AEG....

Hi chaps

I must admit I am delighted with the way it has turned out and the way it feels in the hand. We have a decent measured range on site and it was still over-hopping .28’s out past 50m range. I just want to try and find an optic that suits it.
Genuinely, I’m like a dog with two dicks?

I would go for a classic CQBR setup can get really good Wilcox replica mounts and almost perfect LMT stock replicas off AliExpress nowadays for not very much money.  I wish I was close to you to let you have a blast with one of my mags with Co2 valves in filled with Co2, the recoil and constancy is amazing. Hope you have as much fun as I do with mine. If you have not already join the "ghk master race" group on Facebook has huge amounts of info.

Thanks for the tips Chev

Facebook can be a pain in the ass, but owners groups I’m quite fond of ?? As you say, they are a wealth of knowledge and handy tips

Im on my way
Do the Co2  give better performance? I appreciate they probably create a bit more recoil?

I’m fcuking gagging to get out for a game with it

Its almost as good as HPA without the hose and tank. Aye drop a steel buffer and a 300% recoil spring and its orgasmic. Hes a bit long winded in the video but it gives you some idea of the performance of one using Co2.

Thanks again Chev

I will watch that and get some more ideas. I don’t know if any of the regulars at my site use GHK’s but will have a sniff around to see if I can source a Co2 mag to try out ?
