I know that it locks back even when you're near empty (like 12 bbs left from a 140 round midcap?), but that's due to the decreased spring tension not being able to push bbs into the feed channel, which pushes against the bolt stop lever.

What capacity mags are you using?

I think the spring for the bolt stop the "BB detection" or whatever needs a softer spring.

Mine will lock open about half way through a midcap. I think they're 140- or 160-round E&C midcaps.
