It's a design flaw if you don't use buster/134 gas as it was designed for. If you use other green gases and higher temperatures the front end can snap off. TM knew it might be an issue and there is a metal plate inside the top side, near the front sight, to counter it but not for higher PSI usage.
I designed a slide (not the same guy in the link above) for the FNX and it's about 85% done as other things have gotten in the way. Mine works and can be printed on FDM printers using PETG-CF.
