Hi,

I'm new to the forums and Airsoft in general. I live in the Midlands so sites to play at are easy to find but my main concern is, what do i need to get if i want to start playing on a regular basis .

I have been browsing G36's and was wondering which model to go for as I have around a £180 budget .

Also i am not sure about what gear to get for protection.

Finally thanks for the help. :)

Ive just started and had similar questions.

My advice would be to go along to a local site and do a rental day.

I just took a pair of gloves to protect my fingers from hits and a baseball cap to protect the exposed forehead.

Experienced players are very friendly and happy to give advice.

I learnt a lot by just chatting to people between games.

Well, a rifle is a good place to start.

Safety wise. A good pair of glasses can be brought for around the £15 mark.

A baseball cap with protect your head and keep sun out of your eyes.

Also a shemagh is a good investment. not only does it look the part but you can use it to keep your teeth and throat safe.

After that, good pair of boots and either combats or hiking trousers.

In the £180 budget, one of the most trusted G36's out there is the SRC Gen.III G36C. There are a few users on the forums who have one and commend it highly. One word of advice though; do not buy from Just BB Guns. They are a very crooked organisation and exaggerate the statistics of even a £10 spring pistol. What's worse is that the ready 2-tone guns they sell are orange piles of shit which I suspect their tech breaks upon shipping. I've heard of guys buying ICS L85s off JBBG and them coming with rusty barrels and a muzzle velocity of 280 FPS. You have been warned...

Lol, 'neyways welcome to the forums :)

Providing you're over 18 I would recommend attending the three games in not less than 2 months minimum to get registered with UKARA and then buy a proper RIF instead of a 2-tone which will have no resale value.

When you get to that point I'd recommend a G&G combat machine of some kind, not sure they do a G36 but for the price there are no better guns.

Is there anywhere of which you would recommend buying from at all?

Many thanks for the help

Wow that is a lot thanks man :)

Also would you say the SRC G36C is a good choice as I have played a few skirmishes with this gun and very much like it. I am under 18 by the way.

The Gen 3 is the best to buy if you don't want to upgrade the gearbox later on, as it's pretty solid with decent components in it. The Gen 2 isn't as good, it has flaws that the 3 fixed.

It's what I call perfect 'legacy weapon' material. The only parts that are smart to swap is the inner barrel and the hop-up unit.

edit: the standard SRC G36c isn't as good as the Gen 3 from what I've heard.

Okay I was looking at the Gen 3 on AH.com . Is it easy to upgrade those to things?

Nah, just hit the like button in the lower right hand of my posts :)

Sorry to post in an old thread but what accessories would you all recommend for this gun and their price.

£150-odd quid? That's what wolfarrmouries were selling them at
