Zeroing in for my MB-01 (or is it called L96?)

Hey guys,

I'm new to airsofting and I just bought a MB-01 Sniper Rifle. I have seen the L96 and it looks exactly like mine, are they the same guns but just with different names? If not, what's the difference between the two?

Anyways, back to the topic.

I find that my sniper is a little bit off target

I've read through some other posts and googled this up but they just say to

"Shoot 10 shots, see where you hit, and re-adjust"

The problem is I have absolutely no idea how to "re-adjust" or "zero in" on my scope.

It is the scope that came with the gun, 3-9X40

I see there are 3 knobs on the scope

1. Zooming in (from 3 to 9)

2. Knob on the top

3. Knob on the right

What do I do?

Someone help me, as all this is very new to me.

Thanks alot.

Tom

Because we can't see your exact scope (since no pictures) your best off just turning the knobs and seeing how it affects your shots.

You will find one adjusts the horizontal and one the vertical (I think)

It might be worth turning them all the way back to one way or the other, although you don't have to of course, since you may find it easier than making tiny adjustments if you are only a little bit out.

MB-01 and L96 are one in the same

MB-01 is just a company product name for their variant of the L96

also from what you have said you might have the same gun as me post a pic of the scope and ill let you know how to zero

I'm sorry but how do I upload the photos?

I just took pictures of the gun + scope but I don't know how to put them on here.

I clicked the "Picture" icon thing but it says I need the URL?

Sorry never really been to forums much

Thanks for all the help guys

right you will need to upload your pic to somewhere like imageshack/photobucket/etc and then just post the link to it

I've figured out you unscrew the tops and it reveals the turning knobs

on them it reads:

"1 Click - 1/4"100YD"

it also shows the direction of "UP" for one and "L" for the other

I tried playing around with them but still not much changed

yes that is the same scope as mine

you will need to set up a target 100 yards away from you and aim at a point (bullseye is easiest)

then see where you actually hit the target

then depending on whether you hit to the left/right adjust as 1 click 1/4 inch

and the same for up/down

repeat until you aim at the bull and hit it

(note to self-make topic on zeroing scopes)

Alright thanks alot

I've kinda concluded my shots are going a little to the right and slightly up

so I've been aiming a little to the left and a little lower

how would I adjust this?

Would I adjust to the left and down?

or is it the other way round..

I'm pretty new to airsofting so sorry if I ask stupid questions. = ]

no probs on the stupid questions, everyone is entitled to the odd one even me :)

as for the scope it will need adjusting down and left

Thanks alot Nutster

You've been a great help!

tmr I'm going to paint it Camo-style

i've already watched videos on how to do it and stuff

because black is a little dull to me

btw do you find the L96 heavy? I find it a little heavy after couple of shots

tips for painting read through this thread

as for being heavy, i don't find it too heavy as when not shooting, i tend to carry it by the scope in my left hand with my backup in my right

alright thanks

what do you mean "carry it by the scope"?

my left arm gets tired after holding up the gun

i hold it roughly under the mag.

Hey I was wondering

I want to spray paint my gun camo-style, but I was wondering how long does the whole process take? And is it worth it to do so?

umm well depends on how detailed you want the spray job to be the gun i sprayed for topdog (see linked thread) took an afternoon about 3-4 hours

and its definitely worth it if you do it right
