So I just got hold of a VFC M4 AEG off someone on here and after removing the real steel rail they had said they installed on it I discovered the threads looked as attached (barrel nut seemed pretty solid regardless😒). Anyway, I was intending to install a new rail and despite many years of airsofting I've never tried installing an after market rail on a VFC (well the only other VFC I owned was an original 416 15 years ago) but the info out there on what fits is rather muddled. What brands and types have people actually fitted that went on no issue? Madbull. Looking a 9-10 inch suggestion, preferably something pre MLOK.

Someone munted the threads then filed them down. I doubt the barrel nut sees much load, probably not an issue.

There are loads of rail options. If pre-M-Lok do you want just picatinny rails?

I'm aware of the options, it's more a case of seeing a mix of people saying VFC threads aren't AEG spec and some ppl saying they are and I never have read a forum or Reddit thread with a good resolution on these claims. I'd love to find something someone can tell me works before spending money. Kinda tempted by the old Madbull Troy rails but maybe an URX or a PTS Centurion or something would be nice
