Got scammed when I posted a WANTED ad about the Sureshot AK chassis by some fucker who claimed to have one

Not sure if the scammer found my account from here or usedairsoft but either way I still want people to be aware

He seems to be targeting people who have WANTED ads by pretending he has what you want

scammer number is +44 7572 954731 and he also uses +44 7405 315850

It seems a few others (at least 4 others) have been scammed by him too - if you have interacted with him please let me know

Seems to use the fake name 'Jason Barker'

His scams are quite elaborate and he will send you pictures of the thing you want with the date on a piece of paper - its fucking bullshit tho and I'm assuming the piece of paper is AI generated

He tries to make himself out to be quite trustworthy but don't be fooled - he is a fucking rat

I will NOT be using usedairsoft ever again

Wanted ads are a magnet for scammers unfortunately, but, & no offence meant, there's already loads of posts warning people of this issue, yet people still do dumb shit like:
1. Believe someone who's been a member for 5 minutes, or believe that a 3rd party mate/uncle has what they want.
2. Often take comms off site, to the likes of WhatsApp, or even just start talking to someone via their throwaway burner email.
3. Send payment via an unprotected method, bank transfer or PayPal friends & family etc, ffs, how many times must people be told, only send as much as you can literally afford to lose🤦‍♂️

Glad to hear that, makes a nice change. Always worth mentioning when posting though. As you say, with image generators people can create some convincing scams now so we can but hope that all the normal, decent folks will learn to be cautious and pay heed to @Tackle's post.

I did paypal g+s as I insited so I'll be alright

Still though he was able to scam at least 4 others so putting out a warning shouldn't do any harm

Just surprising how elaborate he was - he was willing to call me and make fake postage labels
Careful with PayPal, don’t mention it’s a airsoft gun part that you ordered.
