Two tone is it a big deal?

Just to be a little bit pedantic, the VCRA definition of two tone requires the main colour to be one of specific bright colours.

And PatrolBase red isn't bright, and white and gold aren't on the list but it doesn't stop bbGunz4Lezz flogging them as IFs.

The whole issue is very silly and honoured more in the breach than the observance.

Buy what you like, do with it what you like, just be sensible (or harmlessly daft) and it'll never be an issue.

Two tone shouldn’t be an issue to anyone really, but my personal opinion I can’t see why anyone of legal age to purchase a RIF wouldn’t just wait the very short while / 3 visits to qualify for UKARA to allow them to purchase one that doesn’t look like a nerf gun.

Rental packages for 3 games is quite expensive so I can understand putting that money into a weapon which can be painted black after UKARA is obtained.

It actually makes more financial sense.

Would this end up almost as negative equity however in terms of parts/paints and/or effort and time spent over just waiting, as I know rental where I attend is £15 (so £45 over the required three visits).

if someone were to buy replacement parts for the painted parts would the savings be voided, and if selling as two tone could the associated loss of selling as two tone over RIF be equal to the cost that rental would have ultimately cost anyway.

Or you could see it from the other angle.

Buy Combat machine for £130ish two-toned.

Sell for £95 after you've got UKARA.

Your "Rental period" has only set you back £35.

Defo. Some two toned mixed with custom paint can be better than replicas

Why would you wait until you have a number on a retailer database which has no statutory or regulatory meaning?

We all know you don't have to be registered with UKARA to prove you play airsoft but its the easiest proof if you have to deal with any authorities.

Have any of you actually needed to explain yourself to authorities? If so, what exactly are you doing?

Peace of mind. Like insurance I don't expect anything to go wrong but I'm covered if it does.

I doubt every officer is aware of what Airsoft is and whilst there are other defenses UKARA would be the easiest you could have if they needed to verify anything.

There's nothing illegal about what I'm doing but it would sure deesculate things if I had proof of my intentions.

I’m really thinking about getting a kjw kc02 semi dmr. No ukara yet but is it a big deal. I know people will say it depends on the owner. I played last week and saw a guy with a cherry red looking m4. Looked good for a 2 tone. I’m guessing stripping and painting is relatively easy for future. I’m eager to play with my own kit and star finding my feet.

Milsims wont usually allow two tone (but may allow you to wrap it). Also, you’ll stick out like a sore thumb when you’re trying to be sneaky. If you’re just a run and gun at skirmishes kind of player, then I don’t see why a two tone should be an issue.

Not a huge fan of two-tones myself. Not only from a *puts on manly voice* 'IT AINT REAL 'NUFF' perspective, but also I imagine it's easier to be picked out if you have a bright coloured two-tone.

The ones ive seen arent hugely obvious. Im sure the snipers with the big scopes can pick them out pretty easily ming you.

My immediate thought would be that if someone is asking whether it is or isn’t a big deal to have two tone is most likely going to end up unhappy once they buy a two tone and almost immediately want to revert/modify it to ‘standard’ colours.

It was more for opinions of experienced players. Their take on them and experience either playing with or along side.

At the distances airsoft is played having a bright gun wouldn't really hinder you unless the person pewpewin you is blind as a bat.

My first game i had a bright green stock and flash hider and i done pretty well. And I didn't feel i was getting shot at more then others.

Its all down to cover and how you use it.

I can’t imagine anyone would ever see someone using a two tone in a negative way at all, as if we really think about it we are all just grown men running around shooting each other with toy guns, so have little room to judge!

You'd be surprised then.

There are always going to be gear whores and people with superiority complexes :D

In my experience, even those people aren't bold enough to say anything about a 2-tone gun. Too busy comparing their trouser cuts anyway.
