best overall: systema PTW 2011 MAX - But I reckon this will loose out shortly.

best budget: G&G M4 sportline with blowback

best upgrade platform: TM VSR Gspec

Best Gas: WE G39

Best realism: Inokatsu M4

My top 5:

1. Any Marui Shoot & Recoil AEG

2. Marui VSR

3. ICS CXP (Or any ICS M4 Variant)

4. KWA P226 PTP

5. G&P Sentry

Just my opinion of those I have used/seen.

Interesting, my list is very close to both of yours

Overall performance gun: tm recoil recce rifle.

Best gas gun: we g39

Best for upgrades and accuracy/range etc: VSR g spec.

Best aeg: g&p sentry (short or long)

Best pistol: tm hicapa 5.1

Other guns that are high up- probably in the top ten

Masada AKM- overall great gun, ino m4- the best in terms of realism, tm m14- a classic with great performance, real sword type 56- great in everyway and the tm MK23- silent death

ok the previous poster said a 2011 ptw is the best this is wrong a 2011 ptw with tac mods is the best, why because he moisture proofs then allows you to use a stock tube lipo and engages the burst function and give it his hop mod. also as far as i am aware there is no difference between a 2008 and a 2011 other than manufacture date.

the best gun then.

1 systema ptw max2 with tac mods

2 tm recoil m4 for the recoil aeg lovers

3 g&p stoner 63 for the support weapon lovers

4 we g39c for the gbb lovers

5 classic army lwrc m6/ m4 cqb for the best budget gun.

for me, it would have to be

1. Any kind of tac modded systema M4

2. Any one of the TM Recoil series, with eagle 6 upgrades

3. ICS sportline series, great starter guns

4. TM Sig P226, or TM Glock 17, they just keep running, and are very reliable

5. TM VSR of sorts, just because of the numerous possibilities of upgrades and set ups

i choose these because i've owned numbers 2, 3, 4 and 5, and i've played with number 1 a lot
