TM Recoil, good or all hype?

I still say definitely a big yes (but I don’t buy in to the greatest guns ever some spout) as long as you leave them stock , I’m a great believer in once you crack them open and start f**king about with them you’ve put a best before date on it , I don’t care who the tech is that’s doing the work once you start it’s gonna die AND it’ll need continuous  ‘tweaking’ to keep it running .

ive got a 11-12yr old socom , a 10-11yr Old 74su , a 6yr old G36K AND there all still running fine and there all still totally stock bar changing to a deans , who da thunk ! ?

They did sit on there rep for a good while but I think they’ve started to step there game up again the new AK’s lock after the last BB , the new 416 Delta is just sex as a gun AND they’ve got the recoil MK46 coming out soon .

So yes there eye wateringly expensive but I do think there worth it if only for the longevity of them .

I own the 416D Devgru - Like others this is my first gun so have no basis for comparison. I had a few sensible minor upgrades carried out which takes the FPS on 0.25's to around the 340ish mark as well as giving me that little more distance I needed.

Forgive my ignorance but 340 on 0.25 is too hot for most uk sites isnt it?

Have you experience with it ? I'm no expert. From what I've read they're better in some ways but not others. Both as stock tms having the better longevity and hop. Kwa more power and recoil . Also the bolt stop system being more reliable in the tm.

Yes, I do.  They are better than a stock TM.  No doubt.  Have tested my KWA ERG against friends rifles.  Recoil is stronger, not had any issues with bolt stop at all.  Range is equivalent.

Thats upgraded I am talking straight out of the box.  That being said the ERG really only needs a hop rubber change.

@EvilMonkee - Out of curiosity which retailers would you recommend for the KWA ERG series rifles? In the past when I watched and read reviews for the KWA recoil rifles they seemed prone to component failures very early on in their lives.

I'm not going to lie, I love my TM G36K and my only gripe with it is that it doesn't feature a bolt stop/stop on empty (please oh great spirit of Tokyo Marui, release an upgrade/update for this beautiful rifle) but I've been looking for a recoil AK-74M with stop on empty/bolt stop and as far as I know the only electronic option is a KWA.

Based on my limited experience, and that of people I know how run them in my local area, the general consensus is that TM are the cream of the crop.

@Wo1f - My only guess on this front would be if the G36 series was released early on in the NGRS lines development/deployment. It's my understanding that their AK's are also considered to be NGRS but it's only the newest one which offers a stop on empty feature.

It’s a shame really. Not having the features and upgrade options of the others is the only reason I’ve not bought one. Might as well buy any of the other ebb g36’s for half the price. The WE gbbr version is still king for me

Having fired all (I think) EBB G36’s the TM is miles ahead of the the rest with the grin factor (same with the original AK’s as well) yes there’s no mag lock , (is with the new AK) the ‘recoil’ is  just so much more noticeable on the TM AND you’ve got the added bonus of the almost mythical TM range without having to do anything to it out of the box unlike most other brands ?

Very true about the gas ! ?

I had the AK74M ERG too, great rifle if a little creaky in comparison to the M4 variants only swapped it to get my GHK back.  Best place in the UK for anything ERG related is J-TAC Custom, you can find them on Facebook.
