The VFC / Umarex HK416 Owners Thread

I changed the hop rubber, but I'm buggered if I can remember what to!  Hmm I'm thinking a green VSR-compatible thing, probably a Maple Leaf then.  It might get a mention earlier in this thread (but can't go looking right now, about to go off to be sporty).
And I bought a spare VFC one because like you, I think it's probably fine.

I'd too would love to hear if a barrel swap makes any appreciable difference.  More accuracy would always be appreciated.

I had a plink in the garden just a couple of days ago.   Just to re-affirm my absolute love of shooting this gun (and probably most other GBB's too)
Up, because I'm wondering about the same thing, I've made a mess of my hop-up because I used a homemade bore snake. thinking of changing it but eyeing a precision barrel if there is such a thing.

Hey guys. Just purchased my hk416 and can't wait to get it in my hands. Been a GBBR guy all my Airsoft life and had many different ones my main one being a we l85 that I've owned since 2014 so changing to the vfc M4 platform will be a big change up for me. Got the vfc mp7 gen 2 I plan to run as a side arm along with the 416.

Will be keeping the l85 as a back up rifle as keeps with my ex British forces mind set.

Nice to see someone joining this topic - @Mtemprell I think you'll absolutely love your new 416.   I have had a long-time itch for an MP7 which is what got me here (searched for 'MP7' in case there's a super-cheap one out there - I must have one, one day)

Sadly, as mentioned elsewhere in this forum, I broke my 416 by running an HPA adapter, and being careless with the pressure setting.   That's had a bad effect on my airsofting - I think I'm still in mourning for it (and hating myself for being such an idiot).   (Plus I've had a bunch of knee, ankle, foot and back problems that have regularly stopped me from doing anything particularly physical, so there's that too).

So I really need to get mine fixed.
I don't know if it's something in the bolt or the trigger or the receiver that snapped off, but I found a little cube of sheared-off metal - and I had to disassemble the gun to get the bolt out of the receiver.   It's been in the loft for months, I really need to bring it down to find out just what went wrong.   Hopefully it's a part I can source from somewhere and replace myself.

I keep meaning to send some of my AEGs off to Luke at Negative Airsoft to get fettled / fixed, but where's the best place to send a GBBR for a fix, if it comes to that?

Ahh gutted man. We all do those little fuck ups. I had on my l85 a crack on the front of the fram so tried a fix of welding it at work but not clicking on it's cheap chineasium metal and just melted it before my eyes soon as the arc touch it, so had to buy a replacement part.

Definitely looking forward to getting the 416. Got a good deal with it 6 mags, the rifle and carry bag all for £500 seconds hand rifle but near new never fielded so hopefully got a great rifle there.

Hey guys. Just got my 416 and love it. Just one thing I've noticed it's a A5 gen3 but for some reason the trigger seems to be alloy not steel. Is this something they changed as everything thing else inside it is steel and the gen 3 upgrades are present.

Different batches will have different parts. It's a bit of pot luck. V3/V2 just really refers to the big design improvements not the standardisation of parts used in the build.

My first VFC was from 2018 it was all steel apart from the bolt carrier. I've since had a few more and everyone has been a little different.

Lucky the parts are cheap and easy to source/install

Yeah different models of VFC have different materials in the parts, and it's tricky to work out which come with what a lot of the time.

The new look to my 416. Genuine Huey holo sight. Love this sight and something a little different to the rep eotech I had fitted previously. Can't wait to field it at my next skirmish.

Got the 416 up to spec how I like it now. New zparts full steel outer barrel, had to mod the om gas block to fit, slightly shorter than standard by 10mm but barely noticeable. Looks better with the full trade markings. Kept the original barrel and ordered the bits to make it a drop in item for if I ever want to revert back to it.

Also chucked in one of the quad hop units and bucking. Stiller to fully dial this in but overall impressed with it so far.
