Terminalsixairsoft now open

Largely AI generated web page and zero pictures of the actual site. Hard pass for the time being

It really needs to be better integrated and less fragmented across social media. Photos of the test day have been circulated on FB and video footage is available on YouTube but that should all have presence on the main site as well.

To be fair, the whole point is entirely down to Rule No. 1 - don't be a dick. If the players are OK and the marshalling is good, then it's not a problem. As soon as either one goes out of whack, you're on a hiding to nothing.
Exactly. If someone is going to be a dick they're going to be a dick. Adding extra rules is unnecessary

I am a relatively local player and I am considering other sites to attend, I am your target audience.

At the moment I wouldn't attend......yet.

The website needs some attention, as does the social media content.

The overall impression is essentially a lot of the basics either haven't been thought about or haven't been communicated effectively. Sections of it read as very thrown together. Even if I end up getting whatever information I need, I'll just expect everyone else attending to not have a clue, slow things down, break rules etc.

"If you are hit, shout "HIT" clearly and immediately for the blind", the for the blind reference, I get it, it's trying to be witty and funny but it misses the mark and lacks professionalism.

A few examples of areas to improve (in my opinion) are:
1. Rules are buried, basic and a bit.....hit and miss. I would be amazed if many attendees read them prior to attending. If I attended, I'd expect most others won't have read them.
2. What type of site is this? Woodland, CQB, indoors, outdoors etc. It's only when you go into a skirmish event do you find out there is a gallery and a link to the video. I need to be told and have real images re enforce what I am being told.
3. How long is the day that I am paying for? (You have a very basic day overview, but lack clarity on when safety brief is and when it is to end).
4. Pyro rules still aren't overly clear, but aren't terrible.
5. A lack of social media posts of people attending is expected, so flood them with pictures of the site, key set pieces you have built or sections you think will be cool, pictures from any test games/days you've done. A map (however basic) would also help.

Add in the BBgunsforless association (it isn't a retailer many experienced airsofters use for serious RIFs), it just doesn't set my hopes or expectations very high and I am picky about where I go now.

All this said, I will be keeping an eye on how it goes and I am very open to changing my mind, I wish you the best of luck and it looks like a huge amount of work has already happened, hopefully this is just the start of an excellent venture. While what I have written probably isn't that positive, I have tried to be constructive with it so it can be used to improve from.

This, 1000%. This thread has also backed that up, it seems like nobody has an actual plan of action - All seems very "We'll see how it goes on the day" which is not only silly, but also a health and safety risk worst case scenario. I can't see the day being too enjoyable if it's consisting of marshals discussing what the next games rules will be prior to the game being ran.
"If you are hit, shout "HIT" clearly and immediately for the blind", the for the blind reference, I get it, it's trying to be witty and funny but it misses the mark and lacks professionalism.
Yeah, somewhat distasteful and as you say - Not very professional.

I did intend to pop down on the Saturday with a few mates to make a change from our regular sites but after reading the responses here and the whole changing of mindset with every question, paired with the overall feel none of them know what they're doing collectively... Yeah, I'll pass for now 😅

My advise would be to use the ruleset from an existing very well ran CQB site - Blackstone Airsoft CQB, copy them and then adjust after a few games if things arent fitting. And I am a firm advocate of semi only in a CQB site.

Make all information about the site and the rules easily visible. At the moment you have to start the booking in process before even finding out where the site is. Simply put, the harder you make it to find this information more more likely potential customers are to say sod it and go elsewhere

  • Always be aware of your minimum engagement distances (MED) - the MED should be specified before booking. We play at our own risk but an informed decsision to take that risk really needs clarity.
  • Snipers must have a secondary - should this not apply also to DMR users as they presumably have an MED?
  • At close range, no BANG rule, shoot but try to aim at legs or torso if possible
  • No blind firing – you must see your target before shooting - this should probably be amended to "you must see your target while aiming and while shooting."
  • Do not shoot at players that are "CLEARLY" dead or out of the game
For DMR users, is there a hard rule of "one BB in the air at a time" or a 2-second delay between shots, etc to discourage an exploit? Is there also a requirement for them to be semi locked?

For pyro also, do you also have an over 18s rule for those using it?

I do agree with the first general rule of "don't be a dick". At the same time, you'll always have one person who'll say "You didn't say we can't do that!", negating the first general rule, instead of acknowledging fault.

I had a look at the website, and I can't even find the rules/info for the games. Am I being blind?

Edit nvm I found them lol being blind

Heres a bit of feedback :)

Grenade in a building "kills" the whole building

Is this a common thing, all sites ive been too is if your behind full cover you are good. I guess this depends on the buldings on the site, if a grenade goes of in a building with 2 rooms are both rooms dead or just the one the nade went off in?

Always be aware of your minimum engagement distances (MED)

Doesn't mention here the MED as others have pointed out. As a DMR/Sniper with multiple secondaries, knowing this beforehand determines my loadout.

FPS LIMITS:
  • —AEG (Automatic Electric Guns): Max 350 FPS / 1.1 Joules - This should also include GBB/NBB pistols, Also GBB/HPA chronoing in the morning over 1J should be retested during lunch to account for temp changes as it warms up they can get joule creep
  • —DMR (Designated Marksman Rifles): Max 450 FPS
  • —Sniper Rifles (Bolt Action): Max 500 FPS
This needs to be more specific. Joules are supplied for AEG but not DMR/BASR (which I would argue are the more important ones to have clear limits on as they are more likely to use heavy BBs.)

The wording of these limits is ambiguous and could result in some serious issues. FPS on its own is meaningless without a set BB weight, because joules are the actual measure of muzzle energy. A heavier BB travels slower (lower FPS) but can still carry more energy.

My TAC41 shoots 300fps with a heavy BB .45g, but thats hitting 2.25J, If i jack that up to hit 500FPS (which is 5.2J!), which your rules are technically allowing, oh boy, some people are going to end up in the hospital and me in a cell most likely lol

Please understand we are not bringing this stuff up to be dicks but because we want you to succeed and feedback is crucial :)

You weren't being blind, they are hard to find, harder than they should be.

This! I appreciate you'll probably be cross reading some of this and maybe even hurt as you have poured your energy, heart and soul into it and without this sort of effort the hobby would die. We want you to be successful, run a great site that has a great reputation that we are all clamouring to play at.

Please take it in the intention it was provided with, I couldn't set up a site, find the land, sort the insurance, sort the materials and build time, the advertising the general admin of setting up a business, the accounts, the ukara membership etc. Lots of people think they can or would want to, so you've already beat 99% of people to get to where you are! You can't be an expert at everything, so please use the constructive feedback.

Adding my voice to the choir, my feedback really is from wanting to see you make a success of the site, especially as there's been so much doom and gloom over the past year with so many sites closing. If I may speak for the others who've chipped in, I'm saying this from my experience of playing at a number of different sites where some rules really need to be made clear and not be open to guesswork or interpretation.

FPS / POWER LIMITS (STRICTLY ENFORCED)

  • All weapons must be chrono tested before use on site
Do you point have a policy that players chrono test on the ammo weight they'll use on the field? Especially on GBBR, there is a risk of joule creep if they test and pass on 0.2g for argument's sake but they use something much heavier where they are above the joule limit. I would suggest any changes to the gun that may affect its performance e.g. adjusting the hop or NPAS, changing springs, changing ammo weight, etc should have the gun re-tested before going back on the field.

@tacticalcolchester I’ll echo @Emergencychimps on taking feedback as intended, I almost turned the pipedream of site ownership into reality once, but it turned out that while we gossiped and then two of us were doing some rapid numbers in our heads we received the news that it was under new management in a couple of hours

My concern on reading so far is the “3 second burst”
Surely this is confusion on “3 shot burst” (3 shots per trigger pull)
There cannot be a situation where players are allowed to shoot on the basis of timing their pulls.
“Don’t be a dick” is more enforceable, but subject to opinion, and will only work with a combination of good players and good Marshalls with a decent relationship - that means not the Marshalls who favour their buddies

Mode enforcement is a real pain in the arse. It’s bad enough to get velocity / joules actually checked / enforced
The only times I have seen regular active mode checking / enforcement have been at tournaments and at certain events.
The events have been specific venues such as underground bunkers run by a handful of organisers

I would keep it simple, chronograph to set limits, ideally with the players BB weight and semi only
If full auto or burst (3 shot burst) then categorise that as applicable and include rate of fire in the chrono check
