I think this is real surefire torch grip. I'm still happy to be told it's not. Unfortunately it has damage to the part where the handguard pin goes through.

What do people think?

Google lens tells me:

Final Summary
  1. Silent, non-clicking switch (True old-school SureFire pressure pad).
  2. Laser-etched aluminum markings (No cheap stickers or print).
  3. No serial numbers (Standard for the "unmarked" 1980s/1990s Laser Products production runs).
  4. Over-molded raw aluminum thread insert inside the polymer body.
You have a highly collectible, original vintage SureFire 628 (or 328) MP5 Forend WeaponLight.

I have only seen a couple of these myself but the ones I have seen have Surefire molded into the side of them Like this:

Yours could be from before they started doing that.

I have also not seen one that doesn't have an etched stipple effect on the torch like this:

Again, could just be they started to add the stipple after releasting the smooth one IDK.

Again i have only seen maybe 3-4 times during my time in airsofting

That's also a super annoying place to get some damage, though; Guess it could be glued but I would always worry about it breaking again.

I will let someone else who actually has one of these value it, though :)

Cheers, yes before surefire became surefire they were called "laser products corporation" which didn't have the branding or serial numbers. Apparently - this is new to me. Clones would also not have those either I suspect. That "caution hot surface" marking in mine is quite deeply engraved.
