New player. What gun do use suggest?

Went for my first game at the weekend and loved it. Hiring guns is not ideal and i think takes away some of the fun, soon as i get my ukara il be getting my own gun, granted that i still enjoy going airsofting.

I spoke to a to someone at the game site and he said his first gun cost him around £150 and he had to spend loads upgrading it to get it how he wanted it then he bought a £300+ gun and it was perfect, so in his opinion its better saving up a little bit more and getting a better gun. I'm a great believer in you get what you pay for.

My budget will be around 300-500. ( hope to have some money left for other equipment gloves, mask etc )

My buddy has an m16 so don't really want to copy him but if its the better gun i would of corse get it.

What gun do you guys think is best?

Can someone help define blowback lol? im guessing less recoil, but im probably way off

Would use suggest not getting any of these guns and buying something else?

blowback

A blowback airsoft gun, is a co2 or gas powered airsoft gun where the slide on the top of the gun moves back when fired. Some people like these guns because they look cool when fired, however they use more co2 or gas.

however your gun isn't co2 so part of this is irrelevent,buy cheap gun upgrade it to suite you imo

I may not know much about airsoft but I'm pretty sure the blowback is only gas or co2 on pistols unless you have a gbbr in which case then it's not, those guns have pneumatic blowback ! As they are all top techs they would all be the same so just pick the one you like best !

No. Blowback can be electric aswell. As said in the AEG bit Usually works by having a bolt attached to the gearbox spring. Well, thats what my EBB (electric blowback) gun works like.

Ignore the comments about it only being C02 / Gas.

Blowback means you get a little kick when you fire it. Not really recoil as much but its meant to add a little more realism to the gun.

Non blowback guns (including the rental guns you've used) give no kick while shooting.

£300 is a good budget for a gun. My G36 (see below) was £280 and it performs great.

My first gun was a M16 which I bought for just under £300

I love it to bits because I like longer guns,

Its up to you what gun you get though, if your going to be playing on a urban site i would recommend a shorter weapon though as its much easier to use when moving in and out of rooms/doorways

You have a good budget, however do not expect guns to be "perfect" out of the box as they seldom are. I have bought expensive and cheap guns some have been good, some have been awful out of the box. Also another persons perfect may not be yours. He may well have spent £150 on the gun and then £150 on cosmetics to get it looking how he likes. He may well have spent a fortune ripping the gearbox apart and tinkering it till he liked it. To be honest you can do that with a £100 sportsline or a £1000 systema.

The difference between a budget gun and a mid range gun is likely to be about 5m in range slightly less accuracy and slower trigger response. The body quality "may" not be up to the same standard, but these days it may well be.

is a US site with reviews on it so you can have a read of others opinions on the ones you have selected.

My personal preference would be for an ICS m4 type at your price point, as I like the split gear box design, but others would not agree, but it is personal preference in the end. Read a lot, ask for opinions and have a look. For the money you are going to drop on this gun getting it right is quite important.

Blowback in most cases just means that there are external moving parts which reciprocate, similar to the moving parts on real rifles and pistols.

You only feel the recoil from this movement if the rifle or pistol is gas powered though, if the gun is electric then it just moves for the sake of aesthetic realism.

The G&G Top Tech range of guns are utterly flawless. The M4 and M16 platforms are all identical on the inside, though the M16 will likely offer slightly greater range and higher fps off the back of having a longer barrel.

The G&G blowback mechanism is also unique to G&G, it uses air to force the bolt backwards, instead of attaching the bolt to the piston. This means there is no additional wear on the internal parts, it also means the bolt never gets stuck in the middle if you're shooting on auto. So it's far more reliable and realistic than more traditional blowback mechanisms.

I'd say to go with what you've picked out. You won't be disappointed with any of them.
