Hi everyone,

Ive just recently got into airsoft and heard this is a good forum to join.

Just getting into things and looking for my first gun, so if anyone has any recommentdations for gear and good AEG rifles please let me know

Preference wise i want an all metal body, wouldnt mind some upgraded guns but maybe nothing done to the gearbox.

It's your first replica so you want something that's reliable out of the box and doesn't need much fiddling with
Id recommend a specna edge M4 or one of the new cyma 2.0 aks. And waiting for your ukara so you don't need it two-tone which just leads to buyers regret

Welcome

The first question is do you have your site membership yet? If not then I'd hold off buying anything till you do so you're not stuck with a gopping two tone. Yes you can paint it later but with use it'll get scratched up making the bright colour visible.

If you do have site membership then what model (M4, AK, G36 etc) do you like? This will help us as there's no point in us recommending one type of you prefer something else. Also try not to get into the mindset that metal = better, many of the newer polymer bodies are just as durable as their metal counterparts (especially the cheaper por metal ones) and the lighter weight of the polymer can be notable nearer the end of the day.

Is your budget just for the gun or does it include extra magazines and batteries too?

Thanks for the reply!

Yeah i do have a site membership!

Im more drawn towards the tactical Ak's as well as M4's

Thats the budget just for the gun, unless they bundle in mags and batteries.

Ive been looking Specna Arms Edge series as well as the delta Armory freya series which i really like or something like the Nuprol Romeo AK style

If you don't mind an extended delivery time (partly my fault as I bought 2 while they were still in UK stock), PatrolBase are selling the Arcturus LWT MK1 for £110 notes, has some glowing reviews. It is a polymer body mind, but supposed to be well built (still waiting for mine to arrive).

Personally i'd always say to go for a M4 platform for your first rifle as parts are extremely plentiful and upgrades are abundant.

If you get bored of the way your rifle looks you can always buy external parts and (more or less) most of them will fit most rifles. I still have my first 'tinkering' M4 (also a polymer receiver) which has been a workhorse. I usually bring it to the field as a reliable backup should my main gun for the day give up.
