Herding cats comes to mind
With the job title being “marshal” rather than “referee” that’s why herding players is a much more common task than rule enforcement
The number one priority is safety, but once it’s been established that guns aren’t being fired in the safe zone and eye protection is on before entering the game zone then it’s keeping an eye ou
Players have to be herded out into the game to give them more play time then waiting time (part of customer service)
Sites need players to have an overall good experience to keep them spending if they have not paid a fixed day price and encourage repeat custom - even if that player is always going to be a one off their experience is going to be passed on to people that they know
Cheating and the perception of cheating then touches onto the player experience. Not necessarily the precise rule enforcement but being seen to act in some way to calm the situation - most “cheating/apparant cheating” being non hit taking
This could actually in some cases be reverse non hit taking by calling out everyone to disrupt the game, give you a chance to advance under the guise of a Marshall checking / watching the “cheater” and/or to distract from your own cheating
(Easy solution if non hit taking is a major problem to you in Airsoft is to transfer to paintball for the hit mark - but then you can call them wipers instead)
A healthier option is to not get hung up on “cheatingl and chill to enjoy the day
