Hi guys, I received my HPA set up from HPA-UK today including a Balystik HPR800C V2 regulator... The top adapter doesn't seem to want to screw in any further than this and I'm not sure what to do? I don't want to force it in fear of damaging something... I assume I'm just doing something wrong that is stupidly obvious?

That depth is fine as long as it doesn’t leak
All it needs is to be “firmly” screwed in

(Screw in hand tight, then a little tighter with a spanner - don’t force it)

Some fittings will come new with a blue or white residue on the thread, which would be a sealant but if not it should not be necessary to add sealant / PTFE tape

If it leaks when filled then it’s not sealed, if it doesn’t leak then all is happy

Ah okay, the videos etc I watched on the regulator the attachment is fully in. I guess I'll find out this weekend if it leaks.

It did come with PTFE tape but as I started to thread it, it just tore it to shreds. I'll take some with me just in case

I’ll get you a video on using PTFE tape ‘properly’, but will need to watch a couple with the volume on to be sure of what they say (when I’m not in a room full of people)

Shredded tape is typically either threaded in the wrong direction or is too thick on the thread

My only concern to raise is if the tape went past the thread inside (which means it can fall away inside and clog something up)

Thank you 🙂

I put a light down the hole and couldn't see any remnants and carefully got out the bits that tore off with some fine hobby tweezers. I did notice the thread on the regulator had some brass shining which I assume is where it just came off of the attachment

I was right to check, the video I planned on showing is old school and the guy is good for experienced advice, but a few points would not be what I would recommend these days

This isn’t an airfitting but is short and sweet with the best method for PTFE tape
