If you're on a desktop browser, you can get to the user menu just by hovering over a username, then the Ignore button is at the bottom right.

Purely for example:

Would be handy if ignored members content didn't show up in the sidebar at all. Can see both their post content and status updates there.

Easy enough to scroll past, but still would be a welcome change if possible.
