Played my first skirmish a couple weeks ago and really enjoyed it.

The players were all friendly, which made it even more enjoyable.

Probably went overboard on kit already, so hope it will get some good use!!

Cheers

I bought a lot of kit already, probably too much MTP, DPM, Urban Camo, laser sight,  etc. Due to spending my youth abroad, I tend to use a lot of Americanisms, didn't realise that was one.

American English definition of to go overboard- to do or say too much because you are so enthusiastic

So due to my enthusiasm for Airsoft I have already bought a lot to use during games.

Unfortunately I found Ian's guide to Noobism too late.

I suspect that Rogerborg was being a bit sarcastic, Isn't it practically impossible to have to much Kit ? My wife often asks how many guitars I actually need.....to which the answer is always 'just one more' !

Welcome! The only problem with having a lot of kit is choosing what to use...

My wife already accused me of spending too much, then I remind her how much she spent on trainers/running gear.

Desert DPM is tempting me.

Makes you stand out like a sore thumb though. I have a set of Desert DPM and can't say I've ever worn it. I do like the pattern, however.

Ok I'll resist the urge for now, but there was an assault vest on ebay for under a tenner, that was very tempting.

It was on auction and British Army surplus.  Looked to be in good condition.

Are you referring to this?

I own one and don't like it one bit.

Was one just like it.

Why don't you like it?

Was thinking it would be good for the summer, where a plate carrier might get too warm.

Though thinking back on last summer, maybe too warm is wishful thinking

Just personal preference. You may think it's the dogs bollocks. It certainly worked for a lot of folks when it was in service and it's not a bad design at all for Airsoft.

Thanks, I think you saved me from getting even more gear.

Cheers

He's like that, but he's not as clever as he thinks he is.

I don't believe that you can have too much kit. Although you can perhaps wear too much at once.  The most fun I had yesterday was the last game of the day when I ditched the vest, sniper and carbine and just ran around with an MP5K, sleeves rolled up and cargo pockets stuffed with mags. ;)
