Hi Guys and Girls

Went to my first airsoft game this year with a friend who has been playing for a while, Now thinking it might be something i want to get into another hobby to waste money on! Currently have 22 air guns 1 compound crossbow 1 compound bow and 1 smaller crossbow. not to mention motorcycles so another money pit seems like a fantastic idea!

Anyway this is me saying hello and hope your all well

Kris

Welcome Kris,
Yep, you will get hooked, & just like bikes it'll probably keep you hooked until you can no longer physically do it, its that addictive lol.
You're also in the company of a lot of bikers here, myself included, & im sure there's a bike thread somewhere to show off your steed 🏍

Welcome Chris. Be prepared to make your savings disappear, but it's well worth it for the fun. One tip on your rif don't be tempted to spend 100s modding it, get a good out the box gun to get use to and then once your acquainted with sport the either upgrade the gun or buy a few more rifs.

thanks for the welcome guys out of interest what's a good out of the box AK and what kind of budget am i looking at for that? thanks in advance

For a beginner you can't go wrong with a cyma to start with as cheap option at £200-300 but if you want the best Tokyo marui ak platforms won't fail you, but they are much more expensive at around,£400+. Then on top of that your looking at around £10 per mag.

I don't have much personal experience with the ak platform so that's the most advice I can give. They'll be more knowledgeable people on here to help than me.

Welcome

As Mtemprell posted, cyma AKs are great guns. Just avoid their 5XX range (around the £100 mark) as while the internals are great the plastic bodies are the opposite. I wouldn't be surprised if they're made from old ready meal trays.

Don't forget to budget for other essentials like eye protection, gloves and boots with good ankle support.

& all the kewl kit you'll need to look uber ally, hold stuff and stop you losing mags in the middle of a forrest.
