So, been looking at a co2 side arm for a bit. kinda settled on a glock.

which would be better, the KJW KP17 or a WE G17.

One bonus of the kjw is i can get it with a co2 mag, while the WE would come with a green gas mag, increasing the spend on spare mags.

gun price is fairly similarly match mind

I’d be inclined to go with Armourer Works CO2 pistols, designed around WE compatibility, but much better quality control.

As @rocketdogbert says.....Armourer Works all the way. I picked up a used (but in MINT condition) custom VX0101 with 3 leak free mags for £70 last year. Feels great, works great and parts quality imo much better than the TM Hi Capa I had before. (Sorry to all the TM fanboys - I did say imo ?)

Not familiar with them? They look to modify guns as opposed to manufacture?

hmmm, call me boring, but.... as cool as the cut frames are, i wouldnt run one myself.

Zeroone has good confidence in the WE G17, as the co2 mags (they sell for this gun) invalidate the warranty for the gun...

That’s literally the sticker on the back of my last race car.

“ I’m not racist, I hate everyone equally”

The 2 others I had were

“People, what a bunch of Bastards”

“Balls out racing”- around a figurine with his balls hanging low.

If you have the cash and can put up with the plastic buy a TM.

If not, get a WE and do some modifications when you can afford. It only needs a RA tech hop up unit and Maple Leaf bucking. The KJW version is probably OK but the WE is a better seller. There must be a reason for this.

I don't know what the attraction of CO2 is. It will give you inconsistent power,  and wear out the internals faster. Once you fit a capsule you have to fire it off. Leaving CO2 in the mag is not good for the seals. With green gas you can fill it, take a few shots and put it away, if you have a mind to.

Do not waste your money on the Umarex version. It has problems of its own and, so far as I know, is not TM compatible. Looks good but is overpriced. You are paying a lot for trades.

Do some research into mag leakage. Some makes are more prone to it than others.

im really thinking for cold/night games, as my tm sig at -3 vented something terrible, while my co2 luger worked fine (though with modified fps and fixed hop, its range is terrible).

that and an excuse of getting a new toy on that justification

Well if you put it that way.....

...... I can hardly disagree.?

What is the issue with the umarex ones? Id have thought the licenced one would be decent.  For the extra funds

They’re OK, but not out of the box. The original VFC was poor, the current Umarex is alright, the mags have very poor finishing to the face of the valve seats, which is why they leak.

And you can’t just put WE/TM mags in them, as the WE/TM are very slightly wider front to back.

For some reason, the hammer frame is based upon the TM G18, without the sear catch.

You can fit TM and aftermarket TM compatible internals, but not without a fair amount of modification, asthe trigger chassis is different.

If you want something rugged and CO2 compatible, by an AW.

Not meaning to throw a spanner in the works but I have a VFC/Umarex Co2 Version Glock 17 and maybe my thoughts may help.

Originally I had a TM based G17 with a host of modification's to the internals and slide etc in order to use with the WE Co2 mags. (I like to use co2 as I find it reliable all year round with metal slides and harder recoil springs, cant be arsed to put up with Green Gas in the winter and all that jaz.) I had major problems with the blow back housings cracking and could not find a reliable aftermarket part. All of the above may be out of date as im talking a good 5 years ago when the WE Co2 mags came out.

Last year I saw a youtube movie on the VFC/Umarex Co2 Glock 17 that was designed out the box with the internals for Co2 and thought id give it a go. Long story short I got one, and have used the WE Co2 mags with it flawlessly. I like the WE Mags as other co2 mags have the extended lip that sticks a little out of the grip which I don't like. Again my WE Co2 mags (5of) are from a good 5 years ago so dimensions may have changed and thus compatibility. Cant recommend this setup enough though.
