I am that moderator and famasboy is correct, I did ask him to come here to give his side of the story or apologise if he felt he was in the wrong: he has done some of each, but I feel there is scope for this discussion to unearth more information of a useful nature to anyone who reads this for the thread's intended purpose of discovering whether famasboy is trustworthy before doing business with him.* The reason I did so was because he has become active in sales threads again recently and I was aware of this thread, so for the sake of taking an interest in the forum's rep for promoting honesty and a safe trading environment, I thought it best to have this out like adults. For that reason I also promised famasboy that I would keep an eye on this thread to make sure that any discussion remains civilised.

For that reason and to comply with forum rules, even though I personally feel that so called strong language is entirely appropriate when we feel strongly, I'm going to tweek some previous posts. Be advised that this situation is under review by the whole mod/admin team so at this stage I personally am not going to say/do anything about the naming of a member. I will however say that no threats have been made. Wishing to meet someone in person is not a threat, nor is asking whereabouts somebody is based, but naturally we mods will take it very seriously if threats are made, by anyone, for any reason, even if they are worded in ambiguous language. But as I say, nothing so far IMO constitutes a threat.

*For instance, how do you know what he looks like, Qlimax? And why did you not provide a tracking number to Jay when you were asked, famasboy?

For the most part Jay83 you were very patient and understanding. Granted your item was not send out on time as I had explained I had stomach flu at the time. The item was send but the address had been written on the package wrong and was send back to me. I asked if you'd like me to repost it and you said you simply wanted your money back to which I said fine. Over this period I was also suffering from a repeating dislocating shoulder and had ten dislocations in a period of a few months resulting in many nights spend in A&E and many days in lots of pain whilst on heavy pain killers which kind of make you forget a lot. I don't know if you've ever had a dislocation but it is pain beyond pain and trying to be so careful with your arm so to limit the possibility of further dislocations as something as simple as reaching for the tv remote has caused it to pop out before, this kind of takes over the majority of your thoughts! I'm sorry your refund didn't come as quickly as you'd have liked but I believed paypal refunded it whilst I was in hospital having surgery on my arm! I don't really care for your name calling or the fact that you have posted my name but the worst is I believe you have just threatened me in the last line of your post, I thought you were better than that Jay83

Who on earth do you think your kidding? I messaged you loads of times, always ignored. Only when i take things further on paypal do you suddenly message me, Those childish games may work with children but most of the guys on here are either far more intelligent then you or older and have heard it all before.

Come on first week. I got the flu, ignored all week.

week 2 and 3 i have been in hospital also ignored.

week 4 ignored untill paypal issue refund, when you say, i did send it have i checked my local buildings to see if its miss delivered to the wrong address, i ask for proof of this being sent!! guess what, ignored again. wow shocker.

Your a lie and thanks to paypal didnt get away with it.

Let it be a lesson to you move on and grow some balls, your not the only one with bills on here to pay, dont sell something if you have no intention of sending it, it takes 5 mins with my hermes online and they collect it from your house for about £3.70 if you were " ill "

Anyways it does not matter anymore as long as you dont try and scam anyone else. Lets try and keep this site honest and keep airsoft a brotherhood of honer.

Like I said before I was on heavy pain medication daily and rarely went on the internet and when I did I your paypal refund didn't enter my mind, not because I was avoiding it it just simply was not in the forefront of my mind at the time. I think you'll find there was lots of communication in the first week. Let me ask you something, If I had been completely ignoring you how is it you know what I was doing from week to week? I didn't have tracking info as it was not send recorded delivery. I never protested your claim with paypal so I'm not "a lie". Some of your messages on this website will have gone unseen as there was a very long period I did not log on to the website, I think the moderators may be able to confirm that. As for my "balls" I can assure you I have plenty of balls. You are still assuming I was trying to con you out of money "don't sell something if you have no intention of sending it" the package was sent and I have never used hermes so I don't know the ins and outs of it so I like to use the post office. You are so adamant that I was simply trying to steal from you but if I was going to steal why would I choose a simple sum of £70, what's £70? A night in the pub? If my goal was to part someone from their money it would have made sense to a)have a more expensive airsoft gun b] not use paypal. It doesn't make sense, and on top of that doing it through paypal where your money will simply be refunded it just doesn't make sense. So I don't really care for your taring me with the "scammer" brush.

As far as I can see this whole thread consists of one guy who I didn't purchase off, which as far as I'm aware isn't against the rules, and Jay83 who did not receive a TM M92F which I have admitted was my fault and I have apologised on numerous occasions but still he sees fit to make a mountain out of a mole hill. The rest of the people here I have had no dealings with and just seem to be jumping on the band wagon.

I really dont care anymore. £70 maybe nothing to you ya, but it is alot to some of the youngers on here under the age of 18 who works part time and i didnt want the same thing happening to them if they didnt cover there asses and use paypal.

If the Mods are watching you then i really dont mind if they delete this and give you the benefit of the doubt.

Your missing the point. I'm not stating the monetary value of the money but simply that fact that had I been trying to cheat you out of your money, like you suggest, £70 would not have been worth the headache you have been with your accusations. I have always used paypal when either buying or selling anything from this website and would most certainly not hand out my bank details to someone I had never met before! And for you to suggest I would defraud a young lad out of money is quite offensive!

Reading Ians reply to this although it's FAMASBOY who is clearly in the wrong myself and Jay83 seem to be on trial here. I know what he looks like as I facebooked the [redacted] to see who it was ripping people off........

This isn't about what I did or didn't do or what anybody did or didn't do this is about Famasboy and ALL THE MEMBERS who have encountered him.

You're not on trial Qlimax and I'm sorry you feel that way. My intention in kicking this hornets' nest was to get some clarity. Famasboy's reputation has been called into question and he has bumped old sale threads, so whether he is trustworthy or not is now of current concern.

But I'm sure you agree that a person must be given every opportunity to defend themselves if they feel they have been misrepresented. You would want the same. The only way that can happen is if this discussion remains civil and for that reason it will remain civil. It's also important that the discussion does not get dragged into a circular 'accuse, deny, accuse, deny... ad nauseam' stylee thing, because then nobody who wants to know whether famasboy can be trusted will bother reading all of it. Which is why I asked you to answer his question, just as i asked him to answer Jay's.

So let's leave the ad hominem alone and concentrate on what actually happened.

I have tried to explain and apologise to Jay83 but his mind is well and truly set on what he believes to be the truth. I came here with no intention of slandering anyone or as jay83 states "slagging match" yet the two main contributors here seem to have no trouble in directing abuse and hollow accusations towards me! As far as I am concerned I have done no wrong to Qlimax, showing interest in an item is not a written contract to buy! I can see by not purchasing from you I have upset you but you really have let your emotions run away from you here. Furthermore, would you kindly stop looking me up on facebook as I find this rather creepy especially from someone whose profile picture on this website has deliberately got the face missing.

I have decided to close this thread. It is clear to me that nothing further of value will come of it remaining open.

First and foremost, Jay, Qlimax, you must appreciate that Famasboy is within his rights to defend himself, and yes it has developed into a bit of a slanging match. As a forum we don't want anyone to feel they are on trial, however when someone is accused of something, they have the right to dispute that accusation, just as you have the right to counter their argument. This requires everyone to reasonable, civil and above all, fair. The reason your commentary has been edited was due to the content. You can make your opinions known without calling people names and getting offensive.

I would welcome your feedback on this matter as I am considering taking the sales-feedback section of the forums to the staff-area for discussion as to how we can improve the service it offers, please message me in full with your feelings on this thread.

Next, Famasboy, as a moderation team we have considered your requests for moderation. It is the decision of the moderation team that as a forum, we have a duty to protect all our members. Your reputation is clearly questionable. We feel that your name may well be useful to buyers and in my professional opinion as someone who has training in both law and forensic investigation, poses no real threat to you, nor does it comprise a data protection issue. Likewise, as a forum, we cannot take responsibility for the conduct of persons on other websites such as facebook. If you are receiving abuse on those website, please take this up with the customer services of those sites.
