Hi all, I bought an aeg cyma mp5k as a backup for my srs from “just airsoft” and am having problems with the mags. The 68rd one it came with works fine but I need a higher capacity (ideally mid caps). The problem is that i bought a 560rd one (also a cyma brand) but it does not lock in place. Comparing the two there a couple of minor differences but the main bit seems that the mag is came with has wider feed lips. Is this a common problem for cyma mp5k users? Any help would be massively appreciated!

It looks to me like the lugs on the back of the mag that prevent you from over inserting are stopping the bigger mag from seating properly:
If the top of the mag catch cutout is level across the two mags the lugs on the hicap look to be higher up. I'd suggest either slapping the fuck out of it and seeing if it'll go in or just taking a small file to the top edge of the lugs to give you a bit more room to manoeuvre.

Failing the above possible solution not working, if you like the look of them, the Cyma Polymer MP5 magazines are excellent, and would likely work well in a cyma MP5 (i confess to have used them to good effect in my standard sized cyma MP5, but have no experience with their MP5k). e.g. https://shop.super5ives.com/shop/item/132303/cyma-platinum-mp5-polymer-130r-mid-cap-magazine.html

Thank you- I did try but no luck. Took the mp5k to my local crawley surplus and their normal cyma mid caps mags fitted fine! The lads there think maybe the hi cap i got was for the blue ed/ platinum’s only but I have no idea?!
