CM16 Carbine and G&G Xtreme 45 + Red Dot

ed has said his WE glock is good for 60+rds, so i just put it down to the dragon being a gas hog.

i hear TM are quite good on gas, but i have no data to back that up.

Due to being 16, I have read the VCRA numerous times to try and work out the do's and don't's.

Now the way I have read this implies that under 18's can manufacture a realistic imitation firearm if they have a valid defence stated in the 'defences' section of the act. 'Manufacturing' a realistic imitation firearm would be to transform an imitation firearm (2-tone gun) so that it becomes a realistic imitation firearm (e.g. painting over the two-tone, replacing the parts with black ones etc.)

It also implies that under 18's can import guns into the country as long as they have a valid defence.

Please note that while you may have to be 18 to gain a UKARA license, you do not have to be 18 to have a 'defence', which ultimately is the important thing in this situation. A suitable defence could be a site membership, or just a record book which you get signed by the site you play at every time you attend.

In reality, the wording of this act is completely and utterly flawed, which means that people are living off different rules completely. For example, X-Site (I have no idea who these people are, just heard of them on the Internet) run a Junior Membership scheme, and are selling RIFs to under-18's who have a defence through their parents. So X-Site sell the RIF to the over 18 parent (who has no defence) who then gifts it to the child (who has a defence - X-Site Junior membership). Don't know how they figured that was legal, but they're doing it.

Back on topic: G&G CM16's are really good starter weapons and can be easily upgraded so that they compete with anything else on the field. If you're having to get one two-toned, I'd recommend getting the non-RIS one as it would be much easier to work with. Painting an RIS is ridiculously hard and pretty shabby (a friend did it to his G&G CVM16 Raider).

(1) A person is guilty of an offence if—

(a) he manufactures a realistic imitation firearm;

(b he modifies an imitation firearm so that it becomes a realistic imitation firearm;

(c ) he sells a realistic imitation firearm; or

(d) he brings a realistic imitation firearm into Great Britain or causes one to be brought into Great Britain.
Supplying Imitation Firearms to Minors

1) It is an offence for a person under the age of eighteen to purchase an imitation firearm.

2) It is an offence to sell an imitation firearm to person under the age of eighteen.

Still think I might have to get an AEP, I can't go spending 55p on two mags. Today on my springer I must've got through 6+ :/

Ed's is just green gas mate ;)
Yeah, but im prettty skint so i'd have to spend like £110+ on the gun and mag and the 55p everytime I used 2 mags (C02). It'll end up being more than the CM16 :L I can't get many two tone AEP's though, so i'll still have to consider it... ;D

You could just go for a different pistol... usually CO2 is very efficient at something like 120-150 shots per capsule. Or as sp00n said you could get a green gas pistol.

Green Gas isn't an option. I can't have an AEP for winter and a gas gun for other times, I just can't afford it :( I need one pistol that'l work all the time (Well, maybe not like -5 celcius :L) AEP's aren't as strong and I prefer the C02 ones. I might be able to afford it if one capsule = 120-150 shots, I thought it'd be like one mag/one and a half mags = one capsule :D Im looking at the WE HI-CAPA's, any other good ones you know of? U£100 and C02 compatible :)

If your looking for a G&G Combat machine have a look at the CM16 R8 L from pro airsoft supplies, you get a red dot included and leaves spare change for batteries

Hmm nice. Only problem is that it's RIS and there not easily replaceable :/ Thanks though! :D

Top tip; don't buy a pistol until you can afford to run one! You don't need one at any point ever, my pistol gets maybe 50 BBs put through it a month and I play a LOT of CQB.

Spend the money on something you'll use more like extra mags for your primary. Or, save it and get a better rifle, for an extra £100+ you'll get a much better gun.

I empathise with the pistol thing, Shinobi, but James is totally right, they are not necessary. I'm generally pretty stubborn but in this regard I did listen to other people's experience. But I still wanted a bloody pistol, damn it!

So I bought a plastic CO2 Non Blow Back - £35 from Action Hobbies +P&P. TBH it's a bit of a beast: only just comes in under 370FPS, sometimes the 1st shot will be 374-ish, but by the 5th shot it's down to around 350. It isn't accurate out of the box, but it has an adjustable front sight which sorts it out a treat. My review is in the Pistol Reviews section of the forum "Firepower CO2 Raider (USP)".

An extra mag or two would be more use though, or a decent battery...

Thanks for the replies Guys! I think, as im on a tight ish budget im not going to get a pistol, I'll just get some accesories for my M4 (When I get it). Also, when the time comes, i'll probably just get an AEP as it's cheaper (Cyma Sig 226).Lastly, where are trusted places to get Magpul from? :D

Honestly, I'd just buy replica Magpul. It's practically exactly the same, and for airsoft purposes would be absolutely fine. If you bought real Magpul PTS stuff it would end up costing the Earth. Best place to buy is from China/HK. Never had a problem with using AliExpress suppliers (http://www.aliexpress.com) but i'd recommend buying Magpul from here: http://airsoftcart.com/21-magpul-series?id_category=21&n=50
