Classic army Stoner LMG upgrade advice

As the title says, I have an old Classic Army Stoner LMG that I am looking to upgrade internally. However I have no clue on its compatibility for upgrades.

If I recall correctly it uses a modified V2 gearbox and so should be compatible with V2 components. Is this correct? and if so, can anybody recommend what parts would be best used for the upgrade?

It has been sat gathering dust for a few years now and finally used it outside only recently and I found its long due an overhaul. Its currently stock (and I have no desire to HPA it) I just want to keep it going as its an old favourite in my collection.

If anyone can share any advice I would rather grateful.

Well, I have one - theoretically since December, but out of the box it wouldn't feed so it had to go back to the shop, and once returned (looks like they filed out the feed hole in the hop, and replaced the rubber with a Prometheus purple) it feeds, but every 5th bb or so has about 50% power. And at about 40m its accuracy very much renders it an 'area weapon'.

Nonetheless I have done some research because I'm keen to get it up and running and fully skirmishable. Waiting to be fitted to mine - a bullgear hop unit. These are supposed to be the pinnacle, and a real upgrade. Unfortunately they have to be ordered from Russia, and via a very convoluted payment process that seems dodgy - but mine turned up after about 4 weeks from ordering. Looks fabulously made. Failing this, the standard hop uses a vertical soft rubber nub - I’m told swapping this out with a carefully cut section of tube from the inners of a ballpoint pen can help achieve greater consistency, and allow the hopping of heavier BBs if your wallet feels too weighty. I've also wired mine to deans, and run the wire through the handguard to a large PEQ box (an old skool PEQ2 as it's nice and long to fit a chonky lipo).

When I get a moment I also plan on making a carry handle for it using paracord in a cobra weave (i.e. like those paracord bracelets), bridging the top cover,. but using QD sling swivels/mounts in the upper piccatinny rail so that its releasable in order to access the cover.

If it's your thing, there is a youtube video showing how to fit a standard M4 buffer tube to it, so it can take M4 style stocks, but I rather like the basic one it comes with.

If you want a larger boxmag, it can apparently take an M249 mag, with the metal feed nozzle swapped off the bowden spring from the original mag, and placed onto the similar feed tube on the M249 mag (I also found free 3d printing files online for this part).
