Bucking shims, Ali Express

I spotted these on aliexpress recently - they seem to be sold as a solution to feeding issues where the bucking lips are too long - do we think they would actually work?


I can't help but think this would simply cause an issue with the C clip fitment on the hop unit, but perhaps there is enough slop in the system for it to work.

Would probably perform or not depending on the hop unit and inner barrel.

Ive had cases where a Maple Leaf Macaron lips have been too long for a zci inner barrel and zci hop unit but switching out the inner barrel brought them back a little bit.

Although with the amount of hop buckings out there and how they are fairly affordable you are better off just using a different bucking which fits your set up than using these shims

I can see them maybe helping space out if the barrel cut is slightly further back than the hop unit wants it to be.

Otherwise i can see potential for them distorting the position of the feed lips and giving you an air seal issue.

Firm agree here, my go-to for guns that didnt like the macaron was the pdi w-hold, although the w-hold runs out of steam trying to spin heavier than .32 ish.
