Battery Advice for King Arms M4a1 Fixed Stock

Have found My old NiMh battery to be dead, broken or just f***ed up! 
 

i wonder what type of battery should I put in it? Anybody that has this gun with any advice? Also, if you got some links for upgrade parts that would be lovely!

Hello there,

So your M4 has an M16 stock wired to the rear?  kind of like a TM SR16 correct?

Was your old Nimh an 8.4 or 9.6v ?

A 7.4v lipo is typically comparable performance to an 8.4v nimh, if you had a 9.6v before then a 7.4v lipo probably wont give you the ROF your are used to.

Being lithium, the lipo will give you a more consistent performance throughout discharge cycle of the battery than you are used to with the old nickel stuff. 

Without doing anything to your internals, a 7.4v lipo is the safe bet.

You'll also need a lipo charger which both of the below shops sell.

Possible batteries - (I would probably go for the higher C rating models - from what I understand that should give you slightly better trigger response.. though I am not an expert on the matter):

Yes, exactly that type. Wired all the way back with a long 8cell 8,4v NiMh! 
 

ok, thank a lot! I will check them out and probably just order it, with a LiPo charger and lipobag( I’ve heard you need a charging bag or something) 

btw, while I got you here, with a nice answer for a kinda beginner. Do you know if I could change my hop-up for something better than what’s in it originally? If not I will just watch a lot of old YouTube vids and try to find out!

Sure, I mean you could do a lot worse than Kingarms components, but for a relatively low cost you could pick up a few bits and pieces that will improve your performance in that department:

I would usually advise the basic black plastic one but my current go to pit stop AK2M4 is out of them, but the red CNC is also good; i've run one in my MK18 for a couple years now. -

The advantages of a rotary hop over the older dial style, is far more precise adjustments and they tend not to suffer from gradual dial-back during shooting.

The above are yy go to hop rubbers - basically an out of the box flat hop - pair it with the below omega nub and you'll be good to go

I would also suggest a 6.02 - 6.03 barrel of some sorts - though the stock Kingarms one should be quite serviceable. 

The fella who runs the above shop is also on here @ak2m4 you may wish to ask him about inbound ZCI barrels as one of those would pair pretty well with the above setup.

Wow, great man! Actually was just watching some how to’s on changing out hop up and bucking, as well ass the barrels itself! I will actually just order those parts right now so I can change those out. 
 

I also think the King arms M4 was pretty good straight out of the box, but it has been some years since I used it so I would like to just fully upgrade and fix it up good! 
 

so thankfull for your help dude! Just bring me some good tips and tricks if you got them!
