I’ve been playing every week and have chilled out so much now, I’m enjoying it far more. But if somebody is clearly obviously cheating to extreme levels I do shoot until they take it and I will shoot the face if they are sensibly far away.
whilst that statement in and of itself isn't strictly toxic, there's a poisonous yet alluring draw to go further. it's the first step on a road of escalation that leads you to open every engagement with overkill regardless of wether or not the target needed that much persuasion.
we've all seen it, first game of the day is pretty chill, but one or two bad apples, or at least the perception of them snowballs into everyone just unloading at first sight to "make sure hits get called" or at least the feeling that if they're going to ignore it, you'll make them regret it.
thing is some folk are clad in whatever the opposite of a starfleet red shirt is and there is literally no amount of dakka that will get through to them, a lesson learned by following the rabbit hole the whole way down to the mitchell and webb "are we the baddies" poster at the bottom.
Yeah it just ends up being a shitter for everyone if you start playing Filipino Rules ngl.
I do agree with just firing follow up shots in principle - you might have missed, hit a pouch, or a tiny twig - but I don't think you wanna flick to Auto and burn people's patch by default.
