Absolute fine for most 7.4V Lipo's up to about 1450mah.

I personally run Nuprol batteries in mine as they are a bit slimmer than others but you can run 11.1's as there is a mosfet present. Could probably get away with similar capacity as the 3rd cell can go down the buffer tube. They are a LOT more responsive with an 11.1.
