Very nice.
But I could never understand why these existed, or at least looked the way they do, after all they don't actually look like a proper briefcase, or any kind of everyday "case".
Am I missing something ?
 
I *think* someone at Magpul back in the 2000s saw some older folding guns like this one, and knew it was something they could do with their manufacturing equipment. The ACR was all the rage, they were making a ton of money from their early products, so they had the capacity to 'just do something cool'. Maybe one of the top guys had a lot of Transformers toys as a kid.

According to the promo literature available from the time, the idea was to mount a pistol white light and use it as such, and obviously it doesn't look a lot like anything else that's commonplace, but to 99% of people it's just a black box which doesn't look like a gun in folded form. That's good enough of a justification when you have a ton of money, an idea and own a huge company than can make your fun ideas in to reality. Or maybe some American spooks said they wanted something just like it - if that was the case then we won't know for a very long time however. Similar-ish concepts (like the MP5K briefcase) were certainly 'a thing' back in the day. Now we have stuff like the Flux Raider, B&T USW and the MP7 was seen a fair bit when the guy rushed security with a gun at that big white house event a little while back.
 
for me it's just a bit of fun but there have been 3 or 4 attempts to make something like this. Gun Jesus has a pretty good video on the real thing. One of the earliest versions even turned up in Robocop 2. With the massive firearms business in the US things like this will always pop up plus a bunch of other weird stuff (I'm looking at you Keltec).
 
The new gun. Used the gun today in it's first game and was fun.

Got home and had to modify it to my liking. Fitted with a genuine aimpoint 9000sc unfortunately not a 5000 but hey they look 90% identical. And for fun fitted a m203 to it had to do some modding to get it to fit mainly to the barrell clamp so it fit over the flash hider the. Cut the barrel from a long to short to match the rifle better.

Me a couple of months ago "Man you know what would be super cool to pair with my 203? A build with the shortest barrel that can possibly mount it, I've really got to make that. No rush though nobody else will post it in a place I frequent any time soon"

Today: Fuuuuuu.... very nice gun. Totally happy for you. So happy.

I guess it's a normal A2 FH? What did you change on the QD mount bracket?

The qd mount I just had to reshape the barrel clamp so it went with the curve of the flash hider, also removed the bottom support bit and there is a half circle bit that fits perfectly in the rear grove of the flash hider to stop it moving around.

It is just a standard A2 flash hider.

Definitely cool and thank you for the compliments on the build. You'll have to buy a 10" barreled gun to beat me haha.
