as i understand it, the idea is to add a combustible to the base of the pellet, that ignites on firing thus boosting energy and velocity.
from the same school of redneck gun hot-rodding that brought us the wax slug, using nailgun blanks and pellets instead of actual .22 ammo and elmer keith......
