Newbie Question About Batteries

This may sound a really silly question but I’ve bought a crane battery pack for an AEG and it comes with a really tightly wrapped clear shrink wrap layer around each battery, so I take these off before using or do I leave them on? Silly question I know but after googling for a bit I haven’t found a straight answer.

Leave it on. It's supposed to be there, to keep the cells together & protect them.
