An under 18 can own a RIF, as long as they did not pay a thing towards it, and it was gifted to them from someone who has UKARA?

The big deal is that the above is specifically mentioned in the VCRA. There wasn't a whole lot written in there so what they did write they obviously care about.I don't think that the Police will do anything if some1 is painting the gun he OWNs unless, he will get caught in a robbery or something with his gun.(or any other public incident/crossing border that will include inspection =))
Whats the big deal?
It's not that I am suggesting anyone go and do it. All I am saying that its like going on a red light (as a pedestrian or cyclist that is) it is surely illegal and can lead to a serious accident, but still people do it.The big deal is that the above is specifically mentioned in the VCRA. Leaving aside the UKARA v Legit defence as covered elsewhere my understanding was it is illegal to change an IF in any way to make it an RIF. Its not illegal to change a RIF to any other colour, its already a RIF so it wont matter if you paint it brown, white or camo. It started as RIF and ends as RIF. Also from my reading you can change a RIF to IF.Bear in mind that it is Illegal to change the colour of your gun unless you have UKARA membership.
Incorrect Im afraid. My brother recently Emailed the Ukara website owners asking on their views as to if he is allowed to paint his two tone (He is one game away from site membership/ukara defence).Leaving aside the UKARA v Legit defence as covered elsewhere my understanding was it is illegal to change an IF in any way to make it an RIF. Law was only designed to avoid people bypassing the no buy/import RIF by simple repainting or IF to RIF. Which would in essence be manufacturing a RIF from you IF as you paint it (or swap parts). For that you need legit defence, of which UKARA is one.
Obviously feel free to shoot me down if I misunderstood, but this description of someone with a RIF just making it camo would not to me break any rules.
Is correct. It's legal if you are over 18 and have a legit defence.
