straps for half face mesh mask, (the one everyone fits to a fast helmet) :)

is there an alterative method so I don't buy another to just cut the straps off?, ideally, has anyone got any straps/buckle things they don't use anymore lying around?

need a new set for other mask fitting....was going to just use zip ties but looks like I now need a bit more flexibility when mounted to the helmet :(

but seems I can now wear my sawflies with it and very little 'gappage'....woodland only :)

wow didn't type backwards that time!!!

You don't need to cut anything off perse, I used the original straps which came with the mesh masks as they have some elasticity.

If you mean the helmet connector part, these are sold separately, I even have some surplus myself. I think.

EDIT:

I totally misunderstood your post, however as mine is still useful, I'll leave it. I guess you destroyed your own mesh masks extraneous parts when you added it to a helmet?

Cheers for that, nope all good, I wanted to fit a v2 type mask with clips as well, fixed with zip ties at the moment but a pain to adjust, so looking for the strap option and havent any spare without buying another ?

I'll check spoilers at home as work blocks site so on phone st moment...... Should have brought laptop in and tethered it

Thanks for the advice ?

Looks to be a copy of the VTAC (Vikingtactics) with quick release hardware.
Had some play with it yesterday, need to get a swivel for my stock, but otherwise it was fun, turns out flyye did not assemble it correctly and I had to re-thread it to make it work, but it seems like a fun device. Do you know if the original is designed for use with or without body armour? I found problems with throwing it over my back (diagonally, either way up) when using the plate carrier, no problems stowing it, but occasional problems on retrieval. That said, it was much more stable (with less negative affect on gravity centre) than any position I've yet tried with a single point sling.

so i have also been out of the game for ages, and i am looking to get back into airsoft in the future at some point. want to get something different though. not the usual AEG. I was thinking maybe a gas gun but prices are too high for me at the moment. I was thinking maybe a sniper rifle, had a lot of fun with my mates upgraded TM vsr (although £600 into a sniper is too much for me)

How is this: http://proairsoftsupplies.co.uk/acatalog/DOUBLE-EAGLE-M63-SPECIAL-SPRING-SHOTGUN-210872.html#SID=170

not sure if it is any good, but it seems like a lot of fun for £50, guessing its single shot so a bit like a sniper, i like the idea of it being harder than an aeg. gas would be another option later on though

A boltie without putting serious money in it is quite disappointing.

yeah what i thought might just scout around for a few months, gotta wait til at least november to drive so probably after summer lol

okay so after having a look i see you can now upgrade the vsr to gas? is this a good thing to do, apparently the mancraft are good? the kit looked to be £100 and i guess you have to get a barrel as well for a upgrade and some other shit, is this a good idea? and which company is best to look at?

tl;dr is the gas conversion worth it, what other upgrades would i get, and which company makes the best upgrade?

thanks

Where would you guys say is the best place to get a good scope for a vsr currently having issues tracking the bbs flight path...

The mancraft kit to run on HPA will need a little more than £100 spent.... Search for dome threads on here, there have been plenty recently about it.

ebay/amazon, any air rifle shop, most airsoft shops.

I'd also day DHGate and AliExpress if you're going after a VisionKing scope. They do have an eBay UK shop too which ships from within the EU, but they charge a bit of a premium for using it.

while we are at it anywhere people can get a replacement stock for a vsr10? don't care about who makes, but would like relatively cheap and not wood

thanks

I have one, but it's a bit scratched up so you're going to want to repaint it. PM me if you'd like some pictures.

ah ideally really don't want to paint up a stock otherwise i would paint the one i have

I'd paint the one you have. Finding them is pretty hard. There are a couple knocking about on Facebook due to people replacing them with wooden stocks, but the ones I've seen are painted or messed up.

yeah what i figured, my mate painted one and whilst it looks good, it was never up to factory standard, ie it could slightly rub off a bit, and wasn't completely stuck (still well done). we used all the right stuff as well, i think its called krylone? used the proper base, then loads of layers but still not perfect, people still recommend krylone?

After you play a bit it's not going to look 'factory' anyway - this isn't CS:GO lol. Use Halfords matte paints if you want a more permanent solution as Krylon wears off a bit after about a year as it's a semi-permanent paint. Its intended use is for hunters in the US who might not always want their gun to be painted the same way for ever.

Just be sure to properly prep with a fine grit, isopropyl alcohol to remove all the oil and dust; use a primer if possible. I've found matte lacquers over the top always have some degree of gloss to them, so frankly I'd recommend avoiding them. There are some expensive ones that you can buy which might get you different results though.

yeah fair enough, the paint job looked pretty cool as well (not buying the gun til the summer)

right, upgrades for the VSR. ASPUK say that the upgrades they do maybe cheaper but still the same quality compared to PDI and laylax, is this true? they charge £300 to completely fit it all as well (my mate had a few problems when he fitted his)

i think they use EZ trigger's or something, but i don't know how good they are compared to PDI and lay lax.
