We g18c selector stiff

Hi there I’ve had my we g18c for a while and I’ve just noticed that the fire selector is really stiff and the slide sticks occasionally what could that be?

I'll hazard a guess that it needs a little maintenance. Degreased and cleaned then re greased. My MWS came new and the fire selector was really stiff. Removed it and properly lubed it and now its buttery. Also bought a second hand 1911 that was stiff and stick. Did a quick clean and grease and sorted it. Use some abbey T2 gun grease for metal on metal and silicone spray for rubber seals etc..

Are you changing the fire mode with the slide pulled all the way back further than the slide lock?

The detent is all plastic.   Dirt tears up the surfaces.  I cleaned my lad's G18, dressed the surfaces with very fine wet and dry, lubed with silicone oil and reassembled.  Runs fine now.
