Specna 416 mag compatible low/mid caps?

Hi folks.

I've got a Specna SA-H05M (which seems to have the same standard 416 lower receiver as the SA-H02) and I'm trying to find some low/mid cap magazines for it - ideally PMAG or other modern polymer ones. Problem is, the only mags that Specna have confirmed work with it are 3 different STANAG hi-caps.

So far I've tried a Kublai 120rd Lancer copy (which doesn't lock and doesn't feed), a G&G Midcap (same problem), and the Modify XTC 190rd midcap - the only one of the three that worked, but seems to have little texture on the mag itself and is a bit higher capacity than I need. I've heard the CYMA mid caps work, but haven't managed to try one yet.

Any of you know any other compatible mags?

Err fill them to the amount you want ? Wether there 30 rd’ers OR 200 rd’ers the outer shell is the same size it’s just the internal capacity is different , you want 70 rd mids then just put that many in .

Good point - I just know that there were some spring issues with midcaps (iirc it was the PTS ones?) a while ago that stopped them from feeding the last few rounds properly, so I'm a bit wary of half-filling the mags because of that.

My SA 416c is a fussy bugger with mags, the only mags Ive found that feed every shot to the very last one without any problems is the Nuprol mid/low cap selectable ones.

I use a CYMA hi-cap in my SA-H05 and it feeds perfectly so I'd imagine the mids will also work fine. I keep meaning to order the mid caps for it but never get round to it

My sons Valken Mags don't work, they fall out.

How did you go on with the S-Mags? Need to order some mags but not sure on the S-Mag or stick with the CYMA's

Bit of an update on this one. I ordered a 5 mag box of the 190rd Modify XTC mags...turns out they fit fine, they stay in place but I can't get them to feed consistently. Best case scenario was getting 2-3 rounds out on semi, it wasn't keeping up with full auto at all - and that's with a stock Specna running a 7.4v LiPo, hardly a high RPS build.

A team mate said it's happened to them with other Modify mags in Specnas, and it seems to be down to the spring not being strong enough.

So now I've got to figure out whether to wait for Gunfire to get the 125rd Specna S-Mags back in stock, or risk the Cyma and Battleaxe ones. ?

Sorry for the late reply - great info. Yes mate they are the ones, the tan work too, also the Hexmags  work too if you fancy a mid cap

I got 6 of these back in February, took a while to be able to test them but I can confirm that they work with the H05 (and presumably the other "old" Specna Arms 416s since they use the same lower).

ive just got one of these to try in my specna and it doesn’t feed  do you have any feeding issues with yours at all? Granted I only loaded a handful of BBs to see if it fed them, but no luck! Not sure if that just happens on the last few shots?

just so I know I’m reading this correct - does this apply to Specna brand mags? Or for example, would most mid cap 120s not work in the EDGE guns?

Next job is to find somewhere that actually had any left in stock..

For anyone interested - gunfire have various Specna mags for around £3! I’ve just ordered 5... then a new molle pouch for them.. and some new - let me stop there!

It’s a midcap, but I’ll give it another go when I get chance - could just be the amount left in as you said!

i followed what @L3wisD posted from Specna and ordered 5 of these - slightly lower in cap than I’d have hoped but will do the job for now!
