Some MOLLE Vest Help

Hi all,

looking to get a new MOLLE vest as the viper SA vest its getting worn. I'll be using it for airsofting and ACF (but i prefer the assault vests to para type webbing).

I though about building my own but that would have cost a lot so I have found these two for no too much so what do you think???

I like both but not to use on the fixed pouches on the karrimor. Any suggestions would be great (has to be DPM though)

I've been searching all week but the problem is I need them to be DPM and there arn't any good DPM MOLLE systems

Could you not get away with olive kit?

Have you considred OD? It works very well with DPM.

If you still want DPM I suggest going to your local surplas or check out flecktarn.co.uk who usually have pretty good stuff

I could probably get away with olive but I would probs need the pouches to be DPM

and I do need it for ACF aswell, don't want to spend a lot on a kit and then not be able to wear it

You can get the pouches in DPM from Flecktarn.co.uk but Olive pouches would still look good. I had an OD rig with DPM when I first started and it looked good.

yea I could do but If you build them up they're a lot more expensive! out of the two which would you choose?

The first one, I have one which is very simmilar to that and it works really well. If it's simmilar to my one it has built in mag pouches so you won't even have to buy that many.

I like the first one as well, all the mag pouches are removeable which is good so I can fully customise it

For the price you are looking at then you may as well get some surplus issue webbing. Had a quick look on ebay and you are looking at around £30 for a real assault vest with all the pouches you would ever need, and another £20 for the dpm daysack which you may need for cadets

Also had a look at flecktarn and there are some nice assualt vsts on there, be it webtex or issue, for £50-90

As for molle systems, then you are looking at molle dpm pouches on an olive backplate

Pouches for dpm molle are £8.50 for large utility pouches and around £16 for double (4 mag) mag pouches.

Should be able to do it for quite a bit cheaper than your two options.

I actually spent a while adding up how much it would cost to build one and it was more expensive that way.

also I already have some low price standard webbing so I wanted to step up a lot rather then just something which is £20 more

Oh well, then buy what you want, suggestions have been made and dismissed, so get what YOU like. Personally I would buy some ex issue assault vest as its built to last and it does as I have PLCE which I have had for 20 years and still going strong.

i know that stuff is great i just quite like the customisable aspect of the MOLLE systems

I have a 5.11 VTAC vest, but it is expensive £60 for the vest or something, but its excellent... i got it second hand with 2 pouches for £35 (Thanks Aron!!!!)
