Shipping a gun in parts.

Since the VCRA forbids importing of RIFs without a defence, and not parts, I guess it would be possible to break up a whole gun into parts and send them from overseas to here. Though admittedly, you'll be asking for trouble if you do that.

However, what about sending guns over here that are sold already in parts, e.g. PTW Challenger kit?

 
legal to import for sure... however you're then committing the crime of manufacturing a RIF when it arrives and you put it back together.

Individual parts aren't a problem. I'd recommend you just get a defence first and save yourself the hassle though.

 
But if you are a skirmisher and attend a site on a regular basis or have some other way of verifying your defence then you are OK.

 
It is so easy to qualify for UKARA if you are over 18 - why would you want to find ways to get around the rules?
