Looking for some advice regarding my BDS9 I bought from Patrol base a few weeks ago.

Despite coming marked and with some rust on the guide bar under the barrel I kept hold of it as it looks awesome.

Took it to a game on Sunday and didn't really use it actively as im a scout DMR player. While walking between games I fired a couple of shots off and seemed like a huge amount of gas was coming out of the barrel. I carry on shooting and a full mag lasted about 10 shots. I changed mags and fired a few more shots this time the slide kept getting stuck on the bbs in the mag, like it didn't have enough force to chamber the next round. It did this 3 times then the slide got stuck and the mag expelled the entire mags with of gas through the shell eject area... I got the mags examined by a tech and they checked the seals and valves and all was good so that leaves the gun.

Anything I can try to stop this? I emailed PB but it's outside 30day returns so doubt they will help.

I will try get a video of it but I live in a busy estate and people whine if I shoot my guns lol

Also completely separate question. Anyone have a BDS9 and use CO2?

Have you cleaned & lubed it, rust would tell me it might have been a demo or a return so might need some simply tlc.

Sounds like it could be a piston head/nozzle issue, maybe damaged (or too small). Possibly letting out excess gas and not having enough left to properly cycle the slide.

A clean and lube may help. Or at the very least remove the slide and check the condition of the piston head by pulling the nozzle forward.

How was the weather on Sunday? That sounds like it was too cold for that particular gas/gun combination

Thanks for the recommendations.

I haven't cleaned/lubed it yet but will def do that. Will disassemble and check everything tonight hopefully it's something fixable.

It was mild on Sunday 8-9 degrees maybe.

I was using Abbey predator Ultra gas so maybe i need to get some Nuprol green and try that too.

That's pretty cold still for standard green gas in a pistol with a heavy metal slide- and especially one that hasn't been given a wipe down and lightly greased on all the touch points between the slide and the body. Give the mags a full charge of gas (with the base facing up and the can upside down- sucking eggs I know), lube it up, and try your luck indoors at room temperature.

OK I have disassembled the upper.

Please bare with me this is my first time disassembled a hi capa. It all looks lubed but I noticed something odd with the blowback part on the back.

I am unsure what a normal one looks like but the little rails on the side look worn and it allows the nozzle part to move further down the assembly

When in the full housing like this image the nozzle part can either fully slide through but it has enough movement for that side rail to hit the housing and get stuck

Here is a link showing what I mean. Apologies it's a one drive link I could upload a vid to the thread.
