I have a friend who has an old gun from before they brought in the UKARA business...

I was just wondering, if he gave me that, would i have to spray it green or would it be OK if i left it since i don't have UKARA?

Thanks

If he gives it to u and u give him nothing then its completely ok

You can keep it how it is etc, the vcra covers purchasing and not ownership.

So you can keep it in its original colours

Do you know why? It's probably been answered a couple times already, and if it has i apologise for asking again.

Because they think under 18's cant be trusted with realistic guns so stopped it being as easy to buy them

Just some loop-holes in the laws i suppose.

The law bans under 18s from buying/creating RIFs, not owning them.

To be honest, if you are sensible with the gun, and keep it boxed all the time except when you are skirmishing, then there is no problem with an under 18 owning a RIF.

I've seen what looked like a 12 or 13 year old with an RIF M4 Stubby at my local site :o

So.... they were probably gifted it...

Not a bad gift :) i probably wouldn't buy one but as a gift? Who could say no :P
