My friend gave me a load off stuff he doesn't use anymore.
What kind off strap is this?

I think it might be a sling.
And is it rigged up right?

because if I'm right that'd save me some money

Yeah it is a sling, it looks a little like an MP5/G3 3-point sling

Actually that looks alot like mine - Tactical convertible sling. Basically a two or three pointer (depending on a couple of extra bits). If you unclip the buckle with it on right you can lengethen it without taking it off so you can make easier left/right transitions.
