<- Noob | Seeking Help/Advice (Electric Battery)

Hey Guys im a massive noob when it comes to AEG's

And im really just seeking some answers and advice,

I am very interested in the GR16 Wasp by G&amp;G as shown here:

Have Decent FPS and nice construction/reviews and fairly cheap for what im looking for.

My question would be what is the Maximum Battery strength i could use for such a gun..

it has: Gearbox Version (GBV): 2
Which is aparently "the latest Gen"...

I am ideally looking at a 11.1 v lipo around 1200/1300 MaH But i have had mixed thoughts on wether the battery is
too powerfull for the gun itself..

if anyone could tell me what the strongest battery is thats compatible (ideally a lipo, and ideally strong (11.1v) i would appreciate it.

Also, if you find it at any better price please make me aware. thanks guys

Why do you want a 11.1V battery ?

Normally, you would need a MOSFET trigger to allow use of such a high voltage. I run all my G&amp;G rifles on 7.4V LiPo and I can't really see the benefit of increasing the voltage.

ETA - the link shows maximum voltage as 8.4V.

G&amp;G include a MOSFET on their Gen3 guns but this is a Gen2.

A G&amp;G combat machine is a good choice though. I would probably say that a 7.4V Lipo or 9.6V NiMH is as high as you want to go before putting in a MOSFET. Ask Ian about them or just wait and he's bound to come along with advice.

Price wise, I can't find it cheaper.

ehhh so mean :L its a beautiful gun.. but yeah im probably pushing a 11v battery itl bust up my gearbox most likely instantly without a mosfet.

my minds set on a LiPo 7.4v 2200 MaH 35C+ rather benefit from the overall benefits from a lipo rather than a bit of extra rof from the nimh 9.6.

Yes use a 7.4V LiPo but I'd upgrade your internals before using an 11.1

It will work with an 11.1V LiPo, but it will wear the gearbox components out much faster. You may well find that it makes the gun fire 2 shots or even full-auto when you have semi-auto selected. The way to stop that is to fit an Active Breaking MOSFET. Also it may not feed BB's consistently or much at all even. The way to stop that is to add a delayer clip/chip to the sector gear.

If you want to do it properly, to make sure something doesn't give up the ghost quickly, you should at least upgrade the gears and piston, slap some Teflon grease in the GB, maybe get a steel cutoff lever and hardened anti-reversal latch.

Just get a basic mosfet (think you can get them for like 25-50$) and then you can run any battery you like without burning the contacts... If you want super speed go 11.1 V 2000+mah 25+C mah Lipo, if you want normal speed then 7.4v 2000+mah 25C ... The 11.1 vill destroy your internals faster, so when something breaks then change: Bushings, Gears, Piston, and head...

If you don't want to risk breaking the gun and don't want to rewire the gun for a mosfet ... Then get a 7.4v 1500 mah 25C and remove the fuse so it can deliver faster .... The gun should take that just fine

But remember: Your warranty don't count when not using standard barrety...
