It's funny, I'm a big fan of the US and all it stands for but as a Brit it just seems rather ironic to wish them well today. It's like "Happy You Beat Us" Day or "Happy we're not letting you tax us into subjugation Day". Seriously don't get me wrong, I love America (I got married at Disney World ferrchrissakes) but Independence Day is them sticking two fingers up at us and the rest of the countries that kicked them out in the first place really. And quite right too.
