HPA setup questions

George has covered it already. Filling is done through the nipple on the top of the tank - it's not the same as Scuba, though basically all dive shops accommodate paintball players as a way to make a little extra money and so will be able to fill your smaller tank too as George says. I would certainly recommend a scuba tank though as a 232 bar one and a fill station adaptor will set you back about £60-100 but is worth it for the convenience of only having to get your tank filled once every 3 games or so. One dive shop near me will do a full 300 bar fill on my 10lt for £4.50, whilst another will charge £12.50. I mean the price is negligible either way compared to green gas, but do shop around for which shop you want to use for your fills as the prices may vary. I'm lucky as there are quite a few around here.

Go on eBay and see if you can find anything over 7lt (over 10 is ideal) and a fill station that fits Yoke not DIN (as most 232 bar Scuba tanks are Yoke). I would say to be sure it's been hydro-statically tested first so you know it's airtight, but you could take a risk and buy one that isn't then get it hydrotested at your local dive shop (can cost around £35 or more). I explained more about this in the first page of the thread, so that's maybe worth a read. Tanks generally have a life of 20-25 years (I forget exactly) before they should be binned, so don't overpay for one that's on its last legs.

As for how long your tank will last, I just don't know. I've HPA tapped my M870, though I've not used it at a game yet and obviously it's a very different system to any GBBR so I wouldn't be able to tell you. My rough guesstimate would be that it should last you around 25-30 extended magazines with a 50cl/3000psi tank, though again this is worth confirming elsewhere and it a number I've basically pulled out of thin air based upon what I've seen. There's an airsoft HPA Facebook group - try posting there and they might reply. It'll certainly be more than a Polarstar/SMP system, but probably slightly less than the Daytona Gun kits we've been discussing here.

Probably all the more reason to get a Scuba tank as you can just throw that in the car and then not have to worry - at most you might need to take 10 minutes to refill it.

Regarding your SCAR-H - check the fill valve position. I know I'm boned on my M4 as the fill valves on GHK magazines are up next to the output valve. Good for looking the business (as you can't see them when the mag is inserted), but bad for HPA tapping.
