Actually, one of the now defunct Japanese manufacturers made one in the early 90s. Most likely JAC or Asahi. Or even Sun Project.

It hasn't been made as it never went into production so wasn't adopted by any forces or fearured in TV/Movies or Manga.  THose are the prime ways that replicas get made.

I was only aware of it from Demolition Man until Forgotten Weapons did a feature

But it was in call of duty which normally seems to be enough to spark interest.
